Members of Chapter AE of P.E.O. met recently for their June meeting in the home of Janan Fletcher.

Others attending were Christy Eichholz, Karen Pappas, Becky Reuter, Karen Rushing, Lindsey Vise and Margaret Price.

The Opening Ode, Objects and Aims, along with the devotional thought, was led by Eichholz. Vise read the previous minutes, with Pappas giving the treasurer’s report.

Eichholz presented a report from the 116th state convention.

She said there are currently 154 chapters of P.E.O. in Oklahoma.

Redlands Community College recently announced students named to the college’s honor rolls for the spring 2025 semester. 

Students listed on the President’s Honor Roll have completed 12 or more credit hours and have earned a GPA of not less than 3.8, with no grade less than a B – excluding 0-level courses. 

Those listed on the Vice President’s Honor Roll have completed 12 or more hours with a GPA of 3.5 to 3.79, with no grade less than a C – excluding 0-level courses.

This year Okarche High School will have a delegate for Girls and Boys State.

Hunter Buck, son of Stephen and Nikki Buck, will attend Oklahoma American Legion Boys State on the campus of Rogers State University.

Maddie Vogt, daughter of Michael and Terri Vogt, will attend ALA Oklahoma Girls State at the University of Central Oklahoma.

Both will spend a week learning about government, leadership and patriotism. 

The Redlands Community College Alpha Beta Upsilon chapter of Phi Theta Kappa (PTK), the international honor society for two-year colleges, garnered numerous regional and international awards.

Dr. Jena Marr, Redlands president, also received the PTK Paragon President Award, an honor for new college presidents to recognize their outstanding support of student success.

The El Reno High School May Students of the Month include Grant First, Adalyn Stahlman, Coy Atkins, Brooklyn Black and Yareni Baxcajay.

Also named were Jacob Smith, Serenity Billings and Hezakiya Satepauhoodle.

El Reno High School graduates Kaden Beverly, seated left, and Riley Ray recently signed scholarship agreements to compete for the Academic Team at Redlands Community College.

The scholarships combined are worth more than $5,000 per semester.

The El Reno Kiwanis Club awarded two scholarships to graduating seniors of the Class of 2025.

This year’s recipients were Kaydence Guth and Mikah Watts.

Okarche High School's May Students of the Month are Katy Creswell, Brianna Mollohan, Holden Schieber, Emory West, Harrison Mueggenborg and Julia Zaragoza.

OHS’ May Lion and Lioness honorees are Andrew Walker and Hannah Carnott.
 

Lamplighters OHCE of Canadian County met recently at Mount Zion Global Methodist Church.

Carol Stine called the meeting to order, while Donna Wehmuller offered a devotional titled “Finding God in the Garden.”

Maxine Little read minutes from the last meeting, with Patricia Morrison giving the treasury report.

Thank-you cards were read from Mercy Home Health expressing appreciation for the gift bags they received on Easter to give to their patients.
