Riverside recently inducted nine members into the Canadian County Rural School Honor Society during a ceremony held at Canadian Valley Technology Center.

Students must have maintained a 3.75 or greater grade point average in their core classes during the year to qualify.

Those inducted included, Malachi Lockler, Emma Royse*, Sassy Brushwood, Avry Royse*, Makay Wooten* and Sawyer Baker*. Back row, Superintendent Eric Bilderback, Alx Morales-Grant*, Westley Wilkerson and Maddax Lehman.

The asterisk denotes those students who maintained a 4.0 GPA all year.

Baccalaureate services were held recently for the Okarche High School Class of 2025 in the high school gymnasium.

Guests for the event included, Bob Barnett, guest speaker and OHS science instructor; Dr. Juanita Krittenbrink, moderator; Pastor James Inman of First Baptist Church of Okarche; Kaylene Ullom, Okarche elementary school instructor; and Father Zak Boozman, Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Okarche.

Apron Annies scholarship recipient from the Okarche senior class of 2025 is Zoe Palmer.

She was named a Universal Scholar and obtained many local and state speech awards.

Upon graduation, Palmer plans to attend OSU-OKC to become a radiation technician.

She was recognized by Juanita Krittenbrink, left, past Apron Annies president, and Mary Nell Brueggen, current Apron Annies president.

Okarche High School April Students of the Month are Zoe Palmer, Hannah Carnott, Hudson Mueggenborg, Colin Stover, Hartli Ford and Kate Osborn.

Okarche April Lion and Lioness honorees are Easton Roby and Scout Payne.

Maple fourth nine weeks A Honor Roll honors went to Brinlee Bland, Kane Smith, Jimi Davis, Lillian Bollinger, Madison Basler, Elizabeth Eisenhour, Ella Ratliff, Carder Holden, Kash Brothers, Kennedy Prince, Paylynn Smith, Fritz Hoffman, Maddox Tartsah, Riley McKee, Blaiklyn Barton and Journey Swigart.

Maple fourth nine weeks A-B Honor Roll honorees are Caleb Blanco, Claire Lorenzen, Hollis Wedman, Abel Overholser, Luken Meschberger, Blakely McLemore, Otis Sears, Braxten Birdsong, Sophie Tredway, Ellie Rose Von Tungeln, Kinsley Racca, Ryker Penwright, Elizabeth Wilkerson, Wager Ferguson, Madalynne Whitman, Declan Brothers, Parker Tinsley and Legend Gatz.

Riverside April Citizens of the Month are Kyden Christianson, Harlee Johnson, Colton Price, Lele Pittman, Guillermo Garcia, Marleigh Foster, Santiago Contreras, Kinzleigh Mitchell, Hawke Wooten, Gavin Webb, Samson Baker and Malik Williams.

Union City Lions Club April Students of the Month, Katie Parkhurst, first grade, Jerron Johnson, sixth grade, and Luke Biggs, 10th grade, with Union City fine arts teacher Tracey Michalicka.

Members of the Underwood Club of Oklahoma Home and Community Education met recently for their May meeting with Michele Rivers serving as hostess and lesson leader.

Others attending were Natalia Valenzuela, Vicki Duncan, Janan Fletcher, Ann Ricketts and Renee’ Schweitzer.

After opening with the flag salute, Duncan read the “Obituary of Jesus” as a devotional.

Rivers presented the lesson on “Using Safe Weed Control Products in Your Garden.” 

Members of Chapter AE of the Philanthropic Education Organization met for their annual spring picnic at the home of Margaret Price.

Others attending were Becky Reuter, Lindsey Vise, Janice Jensen, Janan Fletcher, Christy Eichholz and Karen Pappas, along with guest, Louise Mathews.

Eichholz read a letter from state treasurer Gina Bolay congratulating the chapter on the successful completion of the annual report made to P.E.O. International.
