Underwood OHCE holds May meeting

Body

Members of the Underwood Club of Oklahoma Home and Community Education met recently for their May meeting with Michele Rivers serving as hostess and lesson leader.

Others attending were Natalia Valenzuela, Vicki Duncan, Janan Fletcher, Ann Ricketts and Renee’ Schweitzer.

After opening with the flag salute, Duncan read the “Obituary of Jesus” as a devotional.

Rivers presented the lesson on “Using Safe Weed Control Products in Your Garden.” 

Chapter AE of Philanthropic Education Organization holds annual spring picnic

Body

Members of Chapter AE of the Philanthropic Education Organization met for their annual spring picnic at the home of Margaret Price.

Others attending were Becky Reuter, Lindsey Vise, Janice Jensen, Janan Fletcher, Christy Eichholz and Karen Pappas, along with guest, Louise Mathews.

Eichholz read a letter from state treasurer Gina Bolay congratulating the chapter on the successful completion of the annual report made to P.E.O. International.

ER Wranglers discuss riding slate

Body

The El Reno Wranglers recently held their May gathering with 18 members present. Jimmy Johnston opened the meeting, with Julie Huber leading the flag salute and Gary Sorrells offering prayer.

The group welcomed guests, Kathy Matthews and Michael Stanley.

Members discussed riding in the Chickasha parade June 21.

The annual rodeo will be held Sept. 12 and 13, and planning and preparations are under way.

Next meeting is set for 7 p.m. June 5 at the 4-H building.

Damrosch Club Guest Tea Day set for May 14

Body

The Damrosch Music Club will hold a Guest Day Tea on Wednesday, May 14 beginning at 10 a.m. The performance will take place at Wesley United Methodist Church.

The group will be presenting the best of its season’s musical selections, both choral and ensemble. A small reception will follow and all are welcome to attend.

The Community Chorus of Central Oklahoma will present “We Remember Them” on May 15 at 7 p.m. and May 18 at 2:30 p.m. at St. John Nepomuk Catholic Church located at 600 Garth Brooks, Yukon.

Fresh Anointing Church holding After-School Bash at Adams Park

Body

Fresh Anointing Church will host its third annual “After-School Bash” on Saturday, May 10 at Adams Park.

The event will be from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. There will be food and fellowship and prizes to be given away.

Any child who attended preschool through high school this year is invited to attend.

Each child must register and be present to win a prize.
