Lamplighters OHCE gather at Mt. Zion

Body

Lamplighters OHCE of Canadian County met recently at Mount Zion Global Methodist Church. Carol Stine called the meeting to order, while Patricia Morrison read a devotional from Jesus Calling.

Maxine Little read minutes from the last meeting, with Morrison giving the treasury report. Morrison was birthday honoree.

It was noted that Stine and Donna Wehmuller attended the recent executive meeting. 

Canadian County commissioners will declare the week of May 5 OHCE Week. 

El Reno Wranglers making parade, open rodeo plans

The El Reno Wranglers met recently for their March gathering, with Jimmy Johnston opening the meeting.

Tyler Horne and Trish Duncan led the Pledge of Allegiance, while Gary Sorrells offered prayer. 

Club members discussed upcoming parades and play days as well as the annual rodeo set for Sept. 12 and 13 at the Denny-Crump Rodeo Arena.  

Next El Reno Wranglers meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. April 3 at the 4-H building.

The El Reno Wranglers rode in the St. Patrick’s Day Parade at the OKC Stockyards

He is 11 years old and in the fifth grade at Darlington.

Local chapter of P.E.O. International gathers

Twelve members of Chapter AE of P.E.O. International met recently in the home of Robin White-Mahone, with Cindy Ward serving as co-hostess.

Others attending were Christy Eichholz, Ann Zavy, Janan Fletcher, Donna Dyer, Anna Rinehart, Cynthia Jensen, Karen Pappas, Margaret Price, Becky Reuter and Barbara Johnson.

Eichholz opened the business meeting by leading the group in the reciting of the Opening Ode, along with Objects and Aims. Zavy gave a Scripture reading. Rinehart served as recording secretary. 

Underwood OHCE holds March event

Members of the Underwood Club of Oklahoma Home and Community Education met recently in the home of Vicki Duncan for their March meeting.

Attending were Delpha Miklautsch, Ann Ricketts, Michele Rivers, Renee’ Schweitzer, Bernita Davis and Janan Fletcher.

Duncan gave the lesson titled “Sleep is a Super Power.”

Members contributed toward the ham for the December Christmas party. 

Fletcher will attend the SW OHCE district meeting March 27-28 in Duncan. 

Next meeting is set for 4 p.m. April 11 in the Schweitzer home.

Damrosch Music Club to present program

Damrosch Music Club will be presenting a musical program on Wednesday, March 19 at Ellison Avenue Methodist Church.

The program begins at 10 a.m., with a small reception following.
