ER Wranglers finalize plans

Body The El Reno Wranglers met recently for their monthly meeting at the 4-H building. The meeting was opened by president Jimmy Johnston, with Gary Sorrells leading in prayer. There were 22 members present. The Wranglers made final plans for the upcoming annual rodeo set for Aug.

Fresh Anointing to hold workshop

Body Fresh Anointing of El Reno will host a Praise and Worship Jam Session/Workshop on Saturday, Aug. 28 beginning at 11 a.m. The church is located at 1300 W. Watts. The event is free to all and will include guests from surrounding cities.

Couple announce plans to marry

Body Jennifer Sorrels of Calumet and Michael Cosgrove of Broken Arrow announce their plans to marry in an intimate ceremony on Sept. 18. Sorrels is the daughter of Mark and Sherry Sorrels of Calumet.

Body Members of the El Reno High School Class of 1956 will gather for a picnic set for 10:20 a.m. Aug. 19 at Lake El Reno. Join the group for a fried onion hamburger and to relive good times. The class is planning a homecoming gathering Sept.

Millers celebrate 50th anniversary

Body Larry and Kathy Miller are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary. They were married Aug. 6, 1971, at Red Rock United Methodist Church. Larry is the son of the late Homer and Gladys Eaton Miller, and Kathy is the daughter of the late Dale and Ellen Fread Funck.

County fair draws closer; exhibit entry dates posted

Body County residents can show off their talents during the 67th Annual Canadian County Free Fair, set for Aug. 23-28 at the new Expo and Event Center at 3001 Jensen Road, fair officials report. A new change of entry date has been made, with entries received only on Monday, Aug.

Roblyer family reunion draws 77

Body The Roblyer family reunion was held recently at the county fairgrounds building with 77 in attendance. Nancy Salsman of VFW Post 382 read two proclamations from the city of El Reno along with a presentation of the key to the city.
