Body Lamplighters Oklahoma Home and Community Education Association of Canadian County met recently at a local church. Joan Herr called the meeting to order and offered prayer, with Janice Taylor leading the flag salute.

Body The El Reno Wranglers recently held their monthly meeting and potluck supper, with Jimmy Johnston welcoming members and Gary Sorrells leading the prayer. There were 26 members present.  Marie Hirst gave a report from the annual rodeo.

Body Fresh Anointing Church, 1300 W. Watts, will host a Trunk or Treat festival at the church for Halloween. The event will be Saturday, Oct. 30 from 1 to 4 p.m. There will be candy and treats for kids in costume.

Body The Okarche production of “And They Dance Real Slow in Jackson” will compete in the Leedey regional of the OSSAA one-act play contest for the opportunity to advance to the state finals.

Body GIRL – Joy and Eric Vandergrift of El Reno are parents of a girl, Martha Ruth, born Aug. 21 at Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City. She weighed 8 pounds and measured 20.5 inches in length. Martha has a sister, Grace. Maternal grandparents are Elroy and Valora Unruh of Meno.

Body In 1930, Mrs. E.A. Jackson, a local piano teacher, called about 12 of her musician friends to meet in her home to discuss the possibility of organizing a ladies music club.

Body El Reno Masonic Lodge #50 recently presented a check to the Redlands Community College Aggie Club for $19,760 to support the organization’s scholarship program for agriculture students.
