The El Reno Wranglers held their annual Thanksgiving meeting and dinner recently with 32 members and three guests present. President Jimmy Johnston opened the meeting, while Gary Sorrells offered prayer. 

The club presented a donation check to Nicki Pruitt for The Lord’s Harvest. 

Members will be riding in the El Reno Christmas Parade and the Stockyards Christmas Parade, both on Dec. 6. 

A live auction followed the meeting. Items were auctioned as a fundraiser for the club.

This year marks the fifth year the book has won the Gold Level Award from the National Yearbook Program of Excellence, which recognizes excellence in yearbook creation and school engagement.

Three of this year’s staff were members of last year’s award-winning staff — Darst, Black and Mollohan.

Hillcrest pre-kindergarten September Integrity Award winners are Crew Ferguson, AnnieJune Western, Bennett Moores, Aiden Velasquez, Alani Guzman, TJ Miller, Garren Porter and Yaneiri Espinoza.

The honorees also include Grayson Mann, Mackenzie Rhoades, Yaneisy Arellano, Haisley Haggerty, Ximena De Paz and Allen Mendoza.

The Hillcrest kindergarten September Integrity Award winners are Autumn Flowers, Weston Kuehl, Brantlee Coffman, Zayana Zarate, Romina Reyes, Audrey Fiestel, Willow Hart, Amirah Scott, Zayden Cole, Parker Holsapple, Uriel Ortiz, Aaron Torres, Lilly Hirst, Ismael Bonilla, Maria Moreno and Sawyer Jellison.

Also, Alice Anderson, Alayna Stewart, Nayeli Gonzalez, Laynee Culver, Journi Allen, Z’Rye Strider, Oaklynn Hadley, Landon Hicks, Leighton Miller, Emiliano Espinoza, Eli Murray and Olivia Abbe.

Maple October Citizens of the Monthare  Amari Thornton, pre-kindergarten; Parker Tinsley, fourth grade; Andie Fudge, first grade; Region Ellison, kindergarten; and Delaney Sheffel, second grade.

The group also includes Ryder Striegel, sixth grade; Ella Ratliff, fifth grade; Harrison Cullen, third grade; Adah Brown, seventh grade, and Halle Hunt, eighth grade.

CACHE — Three Calumet students placed in their respective categories at the American Farmers & Ranchers (AFR) Southwest District Speech Contest held Nov. 17 in Cache.

Alice Park placed first in the Intermediate AFR/OFU category, Rance Nitzel placed third in the Senior Agribusiness category and Bella Dean placed fifth in the Senior Agri-Science category.

This marks the 80th year of the statewide contest. The event has gone through many changes over the years but has always maintained its central agricultural theme.

The Okarche High School October Students of the Month are Sara Jacobs, Ally Baustert, Carly Rother, Emory West, Easton West and Bailey Bomhak.

Okarche October Lion and Lioness honorees are seniors Andrew Walker and Belle Beam.

El Reno Farm Bureau gifted coats to students at Darlington School.

Students are said to be “wearing them proudly.”

Janan Fletcher hosted the November meeting of the Underwood Oklahoma Home and Community Education Club. Those attending were Natalia Valenzuela, Vicki Duncan, Ann Ricketts, Renee’ Schweitzer, Bernita Davis and Delpha Miklautsch.

Valenzuela called the meeting to order with the flag salute. Fletcher read a devotional on gratitude and gave the treasurer’s report. 

The lesson was Reduce Spending With DYI Projects. Pictures of craft ideas were handed out. The group decoupaged ceramic tiles with fall napkins.
