Chapter AE of P.E.O. members gather for meeting over coffee

Members of Chapter AE of P.E.O. International gathered at a local coffee shop for their January meeting, with Christy Eichholz serving as hostess and Ann Zavy as co-hostess.

Other members attending were Margaret Price, Karen Pappas, Becky Reuter, Anna Rinehart, Lindsey Vise, Karen Rushing and Janan Fletcher.

After the social, Eichholz called the meeting to order. Pappas gave the treasurer’s report, while Vise read minutes from the December meeting.

Zavy read Mark 9:23 for the devotional. 

Lamplighters OHCE talk projects for the new year

Body

Lamplighters OHCE met recently at Mount Zion Global Methodist Church, with Carol Stine calling the meeting to order.

Donna Wehmuller read a devotional titled “Growing Pains.”

Reports from Maxine Little and Patricia Morrison were read and accepted.

Yearbooks were distributed and leader lessons were assigned.

Thank-you cards were read from Sheriff Chris West and Bethany Children’s Health Center for contributions made at Christmas.

Projects were discussed for this year with several under consideration.

OHS December Students of the Month are Hudson Mueggenborg, Kate Baustert, Chloe Rother, Court Sumrall, Chase Parham and Jaxon Riedlinger.

El Reno Wranglers hold first meeting of new year

Body

The El Reno Wranglers met recently for their first meeting of the year, with Julie Huber opening the meeting.

Club queen Trisha Duncan led in the flag salute, while Gary Sorrells offered prayer before the potluck supper.

There were 24 members present.

The group held discussions regarding events planned for the new year including parades, playdays and trail rides. 

Next regular meeting is set for 7 p.m. Feb. 5 at the 4-H Building.

Underwood OHCE talks volunteer hours, life kits

Body

The Underwood Club of Oklahoma Home and Community Education met recently in the home of Renee’ Schweitzer for a luncheon meeting. 

Other members attending were Ann Ricketts, Vicki Duncan, Michele Winters, Janan Fletcher, Delpha Miklautsch and Bernita Davis. 

Duncan reported on the upcoming West District/South Region meeting scheduled for March 12-13 at the Quartz Mountain State Lodge. 

Members were reminded to keep track of their volunteer hours each month and turn into the OHCE office.

Crafton Tull Foundation makes Blessing Baskets donation

Crafton Tull Foundation has awarded Blessing Baskets a $2,000 grant.

The Crafton Tull Foundation supports community service initiatives of Crafton Tull employees by pooling their resources and directing them to charitable organizations that resonate with their team members.

Crafton employee Julie Slaymaker volunteers for Blessing Baskets.

She contacted Donna Dyer, Blessing Baskets Director of Community Relations to complete the grant application. 

Blessing Baskets continues to serve those in need in western Canadian County through various programs.

Sophomores represent OHS at O’Brian Youth Leadership

Body

Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership (HOBY) is an international organization that inspires and develops high school students to become leaders in their communities through leadership programs and workshops.

HOBY focuses on helping students discover their potential, develop skills like critical thinking and communication, and take action to make a positive impact.

Representing Okarche this year are 10th-graders Arron Osborn and Cooper Anderson.

Arron is the son of Brenden and Dianna Osborn. Cooper is the son of Rob and Ginger Anderson.
