Frances Mae Mitchell, 92, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on May 30, 2024, at the Oklahoma Heart Hospital in Oklahoma City. Frances Mae was born July 27, 1931, in Long Beach, Calif., to Charles Edwin and Frances Josephine Humphreville. She lived for several years in the Montana area until 1942 when her family moved to Wister, Okla.

Leroy David Schein

Body

Leroy David Schein was born Aug. 4, 1945, in Oklahoma City to Walter Herman Schein and Anna Mary (Hollman) Schein. He passed from this life on May 29, 2024, at the age of 78 at his home in Pocasset.

Leroy grew up in Pocasset. His family moved there shortly after he was born to start the family farm, and growing up Leroy enjoyed helping his dad work on the farm. He was the youngest of six children and loved spending time with his brothers and sisters growing up.

Graveside services for Charyl Kay Littleraven Mackety will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 4 at the Concho Cemetery with Rev. Kevin Wahkinney Jr. and Rev. Waylan Upchego officiating. Services are under the direction of Turner Funeral Home, Geary.

Kay passed away May 30, 2024, in Edmond. She was born July 5, 1947, in Concho.

Dennis Sorensen

Body

Dennis Edwin Sorensen passed away May 23, 2024, at the age of 81. He was born to parents, Edwin and Libby Sorensen on March 12, 1947, in Skyler, Neb.

After attending high school in Skyler, Dennis joined the U.S. Navy in 1964. He served proudly on the USS Ranger during the Vietnam War and was honored with the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal and a Navy Unit Commendation Ribbon. He was honorably discharged in 1968.

Kay Langham

Memorial services for Kay Frances Hayward Langham of Wichita Falls, Texas, are pending with Owens and Brumley Funeral Home of Wichita Falls.

Kay passed away March 26, 2024, in Wichita Falls. She was born Feb. 20, 1940, in El Reno and attended El Reno Public Schools.

Kay married C.L. Langham on Dec. 31, 1958.

She was employed with TG&Y in El Reno.

George McCann

Body

Graveside service for George Henry McCann will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday, June 1 at the El Reno Cemetery, under the direction of Huber-Benson Funeral Home.

George died May 29, 2024, at Integris Hospice House in Oklahoma City.

He was born Nov. 22, 1928, in El Reno to Ira Earl and Georgia Audrey (McDonald) McCann. He was raised in Calumet and lived in many states, eventually returning to the Calumet area.

He worked as a superintendent in property management.

During the Korean War, he served in the U.S. Army and was a member of the American Legion.

Hubert (Hub) Reed

Body

Hub died peacefully in his home on Tuesday, May 28, 2024, at age 89. He was born in Maysville, Okla., to Edith and Floyd Reed. He also lived in Purcell before moving to Oklahoma City as a teen.

Hub attended Capitol Hill High School where he excelled in basketball. He played college basketball at OCU and played seven years for the National Basketball Association. Hub was inducted into the Oklahoma Sports Hall of Fame in 2020.

Hub married Rosa Moore in 1960 and would have celebrated 64 years of marriage on July 1.

Rosalie Elizabeth McLaren

Rosalie Elizabeth McLaren, age 92, passed away May 12, 2024.

She was born Aug. 4, 1931, on the family farm southwest of El Reno. She was one of four children born to Bill and Libby Husmann.

Rosalie attended Lovely Valley School up until the eighth grade, and then attended Sacred Heart High School through her graduation.

Connie Anderson

Body

A longtime resident of El Reno, Connie Anderson went to be with her heavenly father on May 13, 2024, at her home with her family by her side. She was born Dec. 28, 1965, in Midwest City.

She is survived by her son, Chase Chandler of Dallas, Texas; her mother, Elizabeth Bieber of El Reno; and her brother, Shane Farris of Sentinel.
