Eating healthy, feeding the community

Body

The Cheyenne and Arapaho Tribes Diabetes Wellness Program is planting seeds to promote healthy foods and healthy wallets.

With the cost of groceries continuing to rise and more information about the detrimental health factors of processed foods, a community-based volunteer garden is just what the doctor ordered.

Located on the lands of the Cheyenne and Arapaho Tribes at the headquarters in Concho, the community garden will be located behind the historic building referred to as Building One.

Hooking catfish can be done all year long

Body

In Oklahoma, you can catch catfish all year long.

In the winter months you can catch blue catfish like they are going out of style. Summer months, you can catch flathead catfish with live bait if you set up at the right spot.

But springtime is when the catfish are getting ready to spawn their new hatches and they must bulk up to prepare for sitting on eggs and not eating all that often.
