STILLWATER – For Oklahoma’s 4.6 million head of cattle, forage is crucial for maintenance and production.  

Alan Dale Akeen died March 24, 2026, at Integris Baptist Medical Center in Oklahoma City. He was born Dec. 15, 1986, in Lawton. 

Known as “Mookie,” he was a member of the Cheyenne and Arapaho Tribes and Native American Church.

He is survived by his wife, Peighton Perry; daughters, Gertrude Akeen and Cedar Woman Akeen; mother, Thelma Little Charley; brother, Anthony Akeen; and sisters, Joanna Akeen, Jenny Bigfoot, twin, Ella Akeen and Samatha Creek.

Services were held Monday, March 30 at Huber-Benson Funeral Home with burial at Concho Cemetery.

El Reno took fourth and slipped to 2-4 on the season with setbacks to Putnam City (2-0) in the third-place match and an upset loss to Pathways (1-0) in the semifinals.

The Indians snapped a two-match losing streak in the first round with a win over Capitol Hill (4-0).

In the loss to the Pirates, El Reno allowed a goal in the final five minutes of the first half, then a second off a penalty kick with 29 seconds left in the match.
