El Reno High School’s boys soccer team is off to its best start in recent seasons after going 2-1 in the COPA El Reno tourney en route to a third-place finish.

Improving to 5-1 on the year, El Reno defeated Guymon (2-0) in the third-place match following a close loss to Yukon (2-1) in the semifinals, which stopped a four-game win streak.

The Indians opened the event with a win over Pathways (3-0). El Reno now has four shutout victories in six matches.

In the win over Pathways, Tristan Chandler scored a goal off one of his team-high five shots.

After having a four-game win streak snapped, El Reno High School’s baseball team rebounded to post one of its biggest victories of the season, closing the 2026 Bryson Cael Festival with a winning record.

El Reno defeated Class 2A-2’s seventh-ranked Oklahoma Christian Academy 12-0 to go 2-1 in the event. The Indians lost to Bethany (14-4) but bested host team Putnam City (5-4).

El Reno is now 6-6 on the season following an 0-4 start.

A gusting south wind played havoc with El Reno High School’s tennis team in its second and last home dual of the season, a shutout loss to Harding Charter Prep at the Legion Park courts.

El Reno slipped to 0-2 in duels with a 7-0 loss to the Eagles despite winning 47 of the 89 games played but winning just one set.

The girls lost 4-0 after falling on the short end of a 54-26 score in games won and lost. In No.1 singles play, Serenity Billings lost to Meera Assaiah (6-3/6-3), while No.2 singles player MaeKenna Wyrick fell in three sets to Regina Ramos (2-6/6-0/7-10).

Rain, gusting winds and cold temperatures greeted El Reno High School’s track team in its kickoff to the 2026 season at the Southmoore Sabercats Relays.

The El Reno girls took fifth place in the team standings with 18 points, highlighted by a gold-medal effort in the 300-meter hurdles by junior Khadija Ba in a time of 57.31 seconds.

She was 1.31 seconds faster than Newcastle’s Riley Ann Wilmouth and three seconds quicker than third place.
