The Filling Station to host Route 66 summit reception

El Reno will host the closing reception for an upcoming statewide Route 66 gathering. 

Registration is now open for the second annual Mother Road Summit, hosted by the U.S. Route 66 Centennial Commission, happening April 23-24 at the Oklahoma History Center. Building on the momentum of last year’s inaugural summit in New Mexico, this gathering will bring together national, state and community leaders to shape the future of America’s most legendary highway.  

County talks marijuana suppression, partnership with U.S. Marshals Office

Canadian County officials discussed multiple issues that would impact Canadian County law enforcement as part of the Board of County Commissioners meeting.

Among those conversations was a memorandum of understanding between the Canadian County Sheriff’s Office and the U.S. Marshals Service Fugitive Task Force, which would allow for joint operations to take place within the county.

Undersheriff Kevin Ward spoke to the partnership the memorandum of understanding would offer.

Paxton secures support for foster care

OKLAHOMA CITY – Senate Pro Tem Lonnie Paxton, R-Tuttle, secured full Senate approval of Senate Bill 1806, which extends support services for young adults transitioning out of the foster care system.

The measure passed off the Senate floor unanimously.
