Body After a long cold winter, Fresh Anointing Church will host a celebration of Community Singing at 6 p.m. on Sunday, March 14. The public is invited to attend. The church is practicing social distancing and the seats are sanitized.

Body The University of Central Oklahoma recently announced students named to the university’s honor rolls, a distinction given to those who achieve the highest academic standards.

Body A total of 409 students at Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford and Sayre completed requirements for either associate, bachelor, master’s or doctoral degrees after the 2020 fall semester.

Body Sarah Wiewel and Stephen Rasbold were engaged on Dec. 19, 2020. The engagement took place at Harn Park in Oklahoma City, a favorite spot for the couple. The engagement ring was a gold band from Rasbold’s late grandmother, Ruth Rasbold.

Body VFW Post 382 and Auxiliary are collecting nonperishable goods to be placed in Blessing Boxes, providing access to food items for those in need. Food can be dropped off at the VFW located at 1515 S. Rock Island.

Body The Okarche High School speech team ended the first semester and started the second semester of the 2020-21 school year with team trophies at two virtual speech competitions.
