Last year, I was one of the few people who ventured to a theater to see Academy Award-winning director Barry Levinson’s mid-century mafia movie, The Alto Knights.
What drew me to the picture was not Levinson’s gimmick of having Robert De Niro portray both Frank Costello and Vito Genovese, the rival mob bosses at the center of the plot.

OKLAHOMA CITY – Tied at halftime against Western Heights, El Reno High School girls soccer coach Anthony Klipp uttered a simple but clear message to his players.
“You can lose one of these last two matches and still make the playoffs, but this is not the one you can lose,” said Klipp.
His players responded with five unanswered goals in the second half en route to a 6-1 victory over the Jets.
Two days later the Indians then locked down a spot in the postseason with a 3-1 win over Guthrie.
El Reno High School’s boys soccer team could finish in a tie for the fourth spot in the District 5A-2 standings, but the squad will not be going to the playoffs.
The Indians dropped a 2-1 match to Western Heights before closing the regular season with a 3-0 shutout of Guthrie.
The split left El Reno with an 8-5 record on the year and a 3-4 mark in the league standings.
El Reno is currently tied for fifth with Western Heights. Carl Albert, which has a match left with Guthrie, is fourth at 3-3 but holds the tiebreaker edge over both EHS and the Jets.
