The University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center recently conducted Faculty Senate Awards, recognizing Dr. Ken Randall as recipient of the David L. Boren Professorship Award.

Canadian Valley Art Guild will host award-winning artist Dorothy Woolbright during a demonstration set for Thursday, May 12 beginning at 7 p.m. at Yukon’s First United Methodist Church. Woolbright will be conducting an alla prima demonstration in oil.

J.C. and Vonda Carroll will be honored on their 70th wedding anniversary with a family dinner at a local restaurant on Saturday with their daughter, Jana Wilds serving as hostess. The couple was married May 2, 1952, at Wickline Methodist Church in Midwest City.

El Reno High School Students of the Month are Ella Schnider, Hayden Hefner, Grady Lesperance, Seth Holdcraft, Abril Martinez, Anna Perez, Emma Patswald and Tucker Colby.  

Lamplighters OHCE of Canadian County met recently at a local church. Joan Herr called the meeting to order and offered opening prayer. Carol Stine led the flag salute, then gave a devotional titled “Word and Deed.”

The Underwood Oklahoma Home and Community Education Association of Canadian County met recently in the home of Vicki Duncan, with Natalia Valenzuela calling the meeting to order. Bernita Davis read minutes of the previous meeting, while Ann Ricketts gave the treasury report.

Larry and Debbie Thomas of El Reno will be honored on their 50th wedding anniversary with a celebration on Saturday with family and friends at an Oklahoma City restaurant. Larry Thomas and Debbie Moore were married April 21, 1972, at First Christian Church.
