Redlands closes road trip with losses

Body

A nagging rash of injuries has forced Redlands Community College women’s soccer team to cancel a planned home match this week against region front-runner Seminole State College.

“We were only going to have nine players available so we had to cancel,” said Redlands head coach Beau Richmond.

Richmond hopes to get several players back off the injury list before Friday’s road trip to Rose State College and Sunday’s home match with Connors State College.

MIDWEST CITY – After breaking down pre-game film on defending champion Carl Albert, El Reno High School head coach Russell Cook had a one-sentence response to sum up the Titans.

“One of the best teams I’ve ever seen,” said Cook.

Facing the top-ranked team in Class 5A in person did little to change his mind.

Carl Albert scored on eight of nine possessions and added a touchdown from its special teams and defense en route to a 70-0 win over the Indians in District 5A-2 play.
