When you do, you might want to tell Tony Caldwell thank you. And while you’re at it, you might tell Scott Law and the City of El Reno thank you as well.
I’m reminded of two famous quotes. The first is from the 1989 movie “Field of Dreams.” You know…the whispered voice that Kevin Costner’s character Ray hears, “If you build it, they will come.”

As the vote on the bond issue nears, I reflect upon my 43 years in the classroom to determine the many changes El Reno has faced and the challenges it is now facing.
It is obvious to see how El Reno has grown, and how it has endured the many changes. There is one change that is affecting our school system.
Growth. No matter what business you are in, growth requires changes, accommodations, compliances and more. With that said, El Reno is in need of a change.

I’ve been a part of the El Reno community my whole life and it has taught me just how important community really is. In a small town, community is everything.
It’s what we build together and what we belong to.
As the former Leadership teacher and the creator of the program, I’ve always tried to pass that lesson on to my students from the very beginning.
We donvt pretend to know the workings of the Cheyenne and Arapaho tribal government.
And since we don’t have a vote in the upcoming C&A tribal elections, all we can speak to is what we’ve seen over the past several years and from this vantage point what we’ve seen is progress. Plenty of it.
Gov. Reggie Wassana, in our opinion, deserves re-election to continue serving the C&A people. In our opinion, he’s provided professional and stable leadership that has helped the C&A and has helped bring people closer together.

In July, Dub was diagnosed with cancer and the Haynes Studio nightmare began.
Every day, running to Oklahoma City for tests, scans, treatments, etc. Our anxiety went off the charts because we had commitments that had to be done.
In stepped the El Reno Tribune and Glen Miller.
The Tribune contacted Coach Cook and his staff and made all the arrangements, then called us and said “We want to help.”
I can’t tell you how much anxiety they took off our minds.

Tuesday night’s City Council meeting was a reminder of how important it is for our community to have clear communication, strong preparation and a shared vision for the future of downtown.
Across the nation, Main Street Programs serve as tools for cities to revitalize their historic districts. When local governments partner with programs like ours — affiliated with Main Street America and the Oklahoma Main Street Center — they unlock access to a wealth of resources.
Here we go again. It’s time for another performance of American politicians’ favorite off-Broadway play, “Shutdown Panic.”
“Congress only has a few weeks to avoid a government shutdown,” Mitchell Hill reports at WTOP, “but leaders of both parties are still a long way from agreeing on a stopgap spending bill to keep federal workers on the job.”
The dog days of summer are not typically associated with school, but the summer of 2025 has marked the 100th anniversary of two pivotal events in the history of American public schools.
Fear of failure is one of the biggest fears people have. Ironically, failure is an integral component of the success process. There are two distinctly different types of failure. Absolute failure is when you give up. Successful failure is when you get back up.
