Body

The Oklahoma Department of Transportation will begin work on SH 66 and Banner Road later this month. The effort is designed to make the intersection safer for motorists.

A Yukon man was killed at the intersection when his motorcycle collided with a truck that failed to stop at the yield sign before entering SH 66 from Banner.

A statement from ODOT said east and westbound SH-66 will be narrowed to one lane in each direction at Banner Road by 4 p.m. Feb. 19 as part of an interim intersection modification in partnership with Canadian County.
