LaVerne Brandley

Body

LaVerne “Bobbie” Brandley, 99, surrounded by family at home, left her earthly life to meet her beloved Jesus in Heaven on April 9, 2022.

Bobbie was born in 1923 in Minco, Oklahoma, the youngest of 10 children. Her parents, Charles and Lena Johnson crossed the Red River in a covered wagon with their three oldest children, leaving Texas to start a new life in Oklahoma.

Terri Burleigh

Funeral services for Terri L. Burleigh will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Benson Memorial Chapel, with burial following in the El Reno Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Huber-Benson Funeral Home.

Terri died April 3, 2022, in El Reno. She was born Jan. 17, 1962, in Oklahoma City. She was a graduate of El Reno High School and attended Canadian Valley Vo-Tech and University of Central Oklahoma.

She worked as an accounting manager for an insurance company and was a member of the Greater Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Oklahoma City.

Ray Melvin

Body

Ray Melvin, 78, of El Reno, was born April 12, 1943, in Enid to James L. (“Dick”) Melvin and Dena (Van Haun) Melvin. He passed away April 5, 2022.

Ray was the proud owner of Ray’s Phillips 66 on Sunset Drive in El Reno for several years before changing his career to mechanic/electrician to work in the oil fields. He worked with Clem Corporation, Parker Drilling and Santa Fe Drilling, working in many places across the globe including Algeria, Paraguay, Ecuador and Borneo, and giving his family the opportunity to live abroad in Spain, Singapore, Venezuela and Colombia.

Paul Knecht

Body

Vigil services for Paul “Boots” Charles Knecht will be held at 7 p.m. Sunday, with Mass of Christian Burial on Monday at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Okarche. Services are under the direction of Huber-Benson Funeral Home.

Paul passed away April 5, 2022. He was born Feb. 24, 1932, in Okarche. He was a lifelong resident of Okarche and a graduate of Holy Trinity Catholic School. Paul served as a corporal in the U.S. Army. He was involved in farming and ranching and commercial trucking.

Almetta Davis

Body

Funeral services for Almetta Davis of Minco were held Wednesday at Minco First Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Luster officiating.

Burial followed at the Evergreen Cemetery under the direction of Huber-Reynolds Funeral Home.

Almetta passed away April 2, 2022, at her home. She was born Nov. 20, 1927, in Minco and graduated from Minco High School. She had worked for the Minco Minstrel Newspaper. She was employed with Tinker Air Force Base from 1966 until her retirement in 1987. She was a member of Minco First Baptist Church.

Emmanuel White Sr.

Body

Funeral services for Emmanuel Calvin White Sr. will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Concho Resource Center with burial in the Concho Cemetery.

Services are under the direction of Huber-Benson Funeral Home. 

Emmanuel died April 1, 2022, at OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City.

Ronald Robinson

Body

Ronald D. Robinson died April 5 at his home in El Reno and was buried that afternoon in the El Reno Cemetery under the direction of Huber-Benson Funeral Home. 

Ronnie worked in the oil fields with his own crew and was a member of the Baptist church.

He is survived by his wife, Wanda Thompson of the home; children, Nancy Huddleston, Lisa McKenna, John Thompson and Donald Robinson; and five grandchildren.

John L. Miller

Body

John L. Miller passed away peacefully on March 27, 2022, in Phoenix, Arizona. He was the oldest child of Leslie and Mary (Lepak) Miller, born at home on Oct. 10, 1940, in Shell Creek, Oklahoma. John grew up on his family’s farm in Banner, enjoying time spent with many Miller and Lepak aunts, uncles and cousins, in tandem with a lot of hard work.

He was very active in 4-H from the time he was small to when he graduated from El Reno High School.

Brent L. Sollars

Body

Brent L. Sollars went to his heavenly home Sunday, April 3, 2022, at the age of 53.

He was recovering from a recent open-heart surgery and was happy to be out of the hospital and back home.

El Reno was his hometown and he was a 1987 graduate of El Reno High School.
