Funeral services for Florence Larene Mark of El Reno were held Wednesday, May 18 at First Christian Church, with burial following in the El Reno Cemetery. Services were under the direction of Wilson Funeral Home.

Florence passed away peacefully May 13, 2022, with her family by her side. She was born Dec. 1, 1932, in Hinton to Charles Marshall and Frances Ruth Smith.

On Jan. 20, 1950, she married her true love, Joe Edward Mark.

Lonnie Ratterman

Funeral services for Lonnie J. Ratterman of Springfield, Ill., were held Thursday, May 19 at Blessed Sacrament Church with Father Steve Pohlman officiating. Burial was in the Camp Butler National Cemetery under the direction of Staab Funeral Home of Springfield.

Mr. Ratterman passed away May 14, 2022. He was born Sept. 7, 1946, in Oklahoma City. He was a graduate of Sacred Heart Catholic School, where he was captain of his high school basketball team. Lonnie was an Army veteran, serving in the Vietnam War.

Helen Beth Armold Osborne (“Meme”) of El Reno, born April 7, 1946, in El Reno, was called home at age 76 on the evening of Friday, May 13, 2022.

Helen graduated from El Reno High School and continued on to college and began a career as a beautician. She was married to Gary Osborne on Oct. 10, 1970. They were married for 51 years.

Virgil Roger Surveyor

Funeral services for Virgil Roger Surveyor of El Reno were held Friday, May 13 at Wilson Funeral Home with burial following at the Concho Cemetery.

Virgil passed away May 8, 2022, in Oklahoma City. He was born Nov. 28, 1935, in Canton to Wisdom and Anne Surveyor. He was one of seven kids.

He attended schools all over, but mainly in El Reno and Denver, Colo.

Gideon Tinsley

Body

Gideon Tinsley was born to William Henry Tinsley and Sally Pearl (Wright) Tinsley on April 5, 1927, in Hinton.

Gid attended Eakly schools until he left school early, not graduating so he could lie about his age to join the Navy in May 1945, where he mostly served on the USS Duluth visiting Japan, Hawaii and China. During his naval service, Gid was awarded the Victory Medal.

Betty Lou Sears

Betty Lou (Cunningham) Sears was born Jan. 12, 1931, and passed away May 1, 2022.

Betty graduated from El Reno High School and married Carlos Eugene (Gene) Sears. Betty led a very full life raising her four children and helping run her and Gene’s business.

She had a love of remodeling furniture, houses, or anything that needed to be made beautiful. Her family and church were the most important things to her.

She will be missed and remembered by many.

Graveside services for Jewel Dean (Green) Marsh will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 11 at the El Reno Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Wilson Funeral Home.

Jewel, 92, of El Reno, died May 4, 2022, in Tulsa following heart and kidney failure.

She was preceded in death by her parents, C.G. Green and Lula Bernard Tarpley Green; her husband, Gerald H. Marsh; her son, Jerry H. Marsh; and brothers, Tommy R. Green and Benny J. Green.

Dorothy Ann Brothers

A prayer service for Dorothy Ann Brothers was held Monday evening at Sacred Heart Church, with Mass of Christian Burial held Tuesday morning at Sacred Heart with Father Lance Warren and Deacon Lloyd Menz officiating.

Burial followed at St. Joseph Cemetery, Union City, under the direction of Huber-Benson Funeral Home.

Dorothy left this world surrounded by her loving family at her home of 27 years in El Reno on May 5, 2022. She was born Feb. 2, 1936, in Union City, the fifth child of Herb and Hazel (Haggy) Wartchow. On June 5, 1953, she married Clarence “Rex” Brothers.

A wake for Walter Roe Hamilton Jr. was held Tuesday evening at the Concho Emergency Response Center.

Funeral services are set for 2 p.m. Wednesday, also at the Emergency Response Center with Rev. Waylan Upchego officiating. Burial will be in the Concho Cemetery under the direction of Huber-Benson Funeral Home.

Carol Sue Wall

Memorial service for Carol Sue Brown Wall will be held at Wilson Funeral Home on Saturday, May 14 at 1:30 p.m.

Sue was born Aug. 18, 1942, in Dalhart, Texas, and passed away April 22, 2022, in El Reno.

Sue loved to do all sorts of crafts and handiwork such as crocheting, knitting, sewing, embroidery and quilting. She also loved to travel with the RV Club as well as going on cruises.

Sue was also proud to be one of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She had a long full life in the El Reno community.
