Barbara Ellen Branch

Body

Barbara Ellen Branch entered into God’s Kingdom on March 12, 2022, attended by family at hospice care in Oklahoma City.

Barbara was born Jan. 8, 1934, to Myrtle Frankie (Crosley) Roberts and Lloyd Bailey Roberts in the small township of Seward. She spent her younger years there, attending school in a one-room schoolhouse with her younger brother, Elmer Lee Roberts, and many cousins until her family moved to Guthrie.

James Beard Sr.

Body

James “Jim” Leon Beard Sr., 84, peacefully passed away at his home in Yukon on Monday, March 14, 2022. Jim was born May 24, 1937, in Westville to Alton and Linnie Beard, the final son of 10 children.

After a six-year tour with the U.S. Army, Jim established roots in El Reno.

He retired at the age of 55 with the Rock Island Railroad.

He had a passion for automotive painting, hunting, fishing and camping. He loved admiring classic cars and watching OU football, as well as having weekly coffee with “the guys.” 

Hannah Smart

Body

Funeral services for Hannah Bigeagle Smart will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Concho Emergency Resource Center, with burial in the Concho Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Huber-Benson Funeral Home.

Mrs. Smart died March 14, 2022, at St. Anthony Hospital in Midwest City.

Donna Dresser Donham

Body

A memorial service for Donna Sue Dresser Donham will be held Friday, March 18 at 1 p.m. at the El Reno Cemetery.

Sue died Jan. 27, 2022, in Fort Worth, Texas. She was born in El Reno on July 26, 1936.

Sue was preceded in death by her husband, Rodney Donham; her son, Michael Rod Donham; and her daughters, Susan Kim Donham Todd and Kelley Leigh Donham Hoover.

She is survived by her son, Jon Kyle Donham; sisters, Daisy Connaghan (Don) and Kay Zucker (Al); brother, David Dresser (Kim); nine grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Heather Warner

Heather Ann Warner of Tulsa passed away March 10, 2022. She was born Nov. 1, 1969, in Oklahoma City.

Heather graduated from Union High School in Tulsa and worked for Goodwill for 19 years.

She was preceded in death by her father, David Warner; paternal grandmother, Verna Satterwhite; and maternal great-aunt, Carol Walliser.

Funeral services for Dorothy Faye Garrett of Cogar were held Saturday at Canaan Baptist Church, with burial following at the Springcreek Cemetery west of Minco. Services were under the direction of Huber-Reynolds Funeral Home.

David Lee Eaton

David Lee Eaton, 67, died suddenly Wednesday, March 9 in Oklahoma City. He was born Aug. 19, 1954, in El Paso, Texas, and later moved to El Reno.

He graduated from El Reno High School in 1972. At the commencement ceremony, he was seated next to Shanon Dyer thanks to alphabetical order.

Garrett Miles

Body

Garrett F. “Bud” Miles, 80, of Norman, passed away Wednesday, March 2, 2022, in Houston, Texas. He was born Jan. 25, 1942, in El Reno.

Bud married Julia Smith on June 25, 1966, in El Reno. In 1967, Bud volunteered to serve in the U.S. Army. He completed basic training and advanced infantry before being stationed in Germany.

Deven Johnson

Body

Funeral services for Deven Renee Blackwolf Johnson were held Thursday at the Concho Emergency Response Center with Rev. Gerald Panana officiating.

Burial was in the Concho Cemetery under the direction of Huber-Benson Funeral Home.

Deven died March 4, 2022, at OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City. She was born June 22, 1978, in Clinton.

She attended the Baptist church and worked in assembly for a trailer manufacturer.

Loren Ray

Funeral services for Loren “Skip” Leonard Ray of Calumet were held Thursday at First United Methodist Church in Calumet with Tiffany Nagel Monroe officiating. Burial followed in the Sunset Cemetery in Geary, under the direction of Turner Funeral Home of Hinton.

Skip passed away March 4, 2022, near Calumet. He was born July 31, 1971, in Fairbanks, Alaska. He graduated from Hinton High School in 1990.
