Steven Joseph Peacher

Body

Steven Joseph Peacher was born March 17, 1952, in Waynoka, Okla., to Dr. K.L. and Jo Ann (Smalley) Peacher.

He passed away from this life to his heavenly home on Feb. 11, 2023.

Steve attended Rose Witcher Elementary, graduated from El Reno High School and attended El Reno Junior College.

He joined the United States Air Force in 1974, and served his country for six years. He received his bachelor of science degree in 1976 from Culver Stockton College in Canton, Mo.

Donnie Max McGee

Body

On Feb. 10, 2023, Donnie Max McGee of El Reno, Okla., died at the age of 55. Max was born to Tony and Linda McGee in 1967. He graduated from El Reno High School in 1985. He joined the USMC after graduation. After discharge, his career included jobs in the oil field, construction and handyman. 

Max was an avid outdoorsman and gardener. If you couldn’t find him anywhere, he was usually hunting, fishing or gardening. If he had tools and supplies, he could repair or make anything. He was blessed with many talents.

Richard Whittle

Body

Richard Harold Whittle passed away Feb. 11, 2023, in El Reno. He was born to Richard and Eva Whittle on July 24, 1930, in Naomi, Ky.

He retired from the Rock Island Railroad.

He loved the outdoors, his place at the river and hunting and fishing.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters and two brothers; and his daughter, Annette.

He is survived by his wife of 72 years, June Whittle; son, Rick and wife, Tina of Surprise, Ariz.; son, Wes and wife, Audrey of El Reno; seven grandkids, 11 great-grandkids and two great-great-grandkids.

Mary Agnes Barthelme

Body

Mass of Christian Burial for Mary Agnes Barthelme of Okarche will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 15 at Holy Trinity Church in Okarche with Rev. Cory Stanley and Deacon Max Schwarz officiating.

Burial will follow at Holy Trinity Cemetery under the direction of Huber-Benson Funeral Home.

A prayer service for Mary Agnes was held Tuesday evening.

Barbara Higdon

Body

Barbara Jean Fuller Higdon, resident of El Reno, joined our Lord on Feb. 8, 2023. At age 84, she had fought valiant battles against kidney cancer and Alzheimer’s disease in the later parts of her life.

Robert Morris

Body

Graveside services for Robert Maxwell Morris will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 20 at the Kingfisher Cemetery with Rev. James Inman officiating.

Services are under the direction of Turner Funeral Home, Geary.

Bob passed away Feb. 10, 2023, in Hydro.

He was born Nov. 16, 1939, in El Reno. He grew up in El Reno and lived most of his life in Oklahoma.

Jason Ruff

Body

Funeral services for Jason Lee Ruff were held Monday at the Geary Emergency Response Center.

Burial was in the Greenfield Indian Cemetery under the direction of Huber-Benson Funeral Home.

Jason died Feb. 8, 2023, at Integris Baptist Medical Center in Oklahoma City.

He was born Nov. 8, 1987, in Oklahoma City. He was a graduate of Capitol Hill High School and worked at OKC West.

Jason was a member of the Cheyenne and Arapaho Tribes and Lakota Tribe. He participated in Sweat Lodge Ceremonies and Peyote Ceremonies.

Joyce Ann Lee

Body

Joyce A. Lee passed away peacefully in her sleep the morning of February 2 in El Reno at River Oaks Skilled Nursing & Therapy.

Joyce was born to Carl and Ada (Baker) Boyer on May 8, 1942, in Geary, Okla.

She was the oldest of four daughters.

Like many children born in her time, she stayed busy with chores, helping her mom tend the garden, cook, clean and take care of her younger siblings.

Kathryn Louise Havener

Kathryn (Kathy) Louise Havener was born Sept. 23, 1955, at Kingfisher Regional Hospital to Joseph Irwin Farrell and Betty Lou Farrell.

She passed away Feb. 7, 2023, in Oklahoma City.

Kathy was the middle child of four brothers, Greg, Mark, Jeff and James Farrell. She was a very tough gal because, well, she had to be.

She was a heck of a basketball player, she played piano and clarinet, and was eventually the Drum Major of the Kingfisher High School Band.

Patricia Ann Everett

Body

Come-and-go viewing and visitation for Patricia Ann Everett of Union City will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 11 at Wilson Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 12 at Wilson’s with Lynsey Manning-Hankins officiating. Burial will follow at the Union City Cemetery.

Patricia passed away Feb. 3, 2023. She was born in El Reno on Oct. 24, 1942, to Leo Clovis and Christine Marie Clovis. She attended El Reno High School. She became a lifelong Union City area resident after marrying John H. Everett on June 30, 1962.
