Memorial services for Floella Pointer were held Wednesday, Sept. 8 at Wilson Funeral Home.

Floella went to be with the Lord on Aug. 4, 2021, in Oklahoma City. She was born to Herschel and Myrtle King on Aug. 30, 1937, in El Reno. Floella was a longtime resident of El Reno, Union City and Calumet. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. She enjoyed being around her family, traveling with her sisters, and gardening. Her grandchildren will miss her chocolate cake.

Gerald Dean Presley

Gerald Dean Presley left this mortal plane on Aug. 26, 2021, at the age of 77. He was born Oct. 10, 1943, in Seminole to Henry and Sarah Armstrong Presley.

Memorial services are scheduled for Friday, Sept. 10 at 2 p.m. at the First Assembly of God Church in El Reno, with Rev. Michael Moss officiating.

Gerald graduated from Bowlegs High School in 1961 with many academic and athletic honors.

Funeral services for Marcia D. Buford will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 4 at the Word First Ministries Church, 10220 N. Western in Oklahoma City, with Pastor H.J. Gunn Jr. and Rev. Robert Proutt officiating.

COVID-19 precautions will be followed, including limited in-person attendance and option to attend virtually. Burial will follow at the El Reno Cemetery under the direction of Huber-Benson Funeral Home.

Kathleen Frances Leck

Body

Kathleen Frances (Kappus) Leck was born Feb. 1, 1935, to Lawrence Kappus and Mildred (DeFrance) Meyer. She passed away Aug. 23, 2021, in El Reno at the age of 86.

Kathleen graduated from Hinton High School in 1952. She worked in El Reno as a telephone operator. She married Robert Leck on Feb. 7, 1953, in El Reno. They lived on the farm their whole life and ran a dairy. Kathleen later attended El Reno Junior College. She worked at Boles Chevrolet, Wheeler Chevrolet, OKC Stockyards, and in accounts payable at Geary Public Schools.

Abbie Lena Goosman

Body

Abbie Lena Goosman passed away Aug. 20, 2021, just turned 96. She was born June 4, 1925, on a farm in Hickory. She came to Oklahoma City as a small child and was a Bluebird for two years in grade school.

She married R.J. Goosman on Dec. 25, 1946, in the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Abbie Gattis. They moved to El Reno and had three children, Richard Eugene Goosman, Roy Tim Goosman and Tina Robin (Goosman) Bell.

Ed Schutten

Body

Funeral services for Edward Griffin Schutten of Minco were held Friday at First Baptist Church in Minco with Pastor Mike Luster and Pastor Bob Hines officiating. Burial followed in the Evergreen Cemetery. Services were under the direction of Huber-Reynolds Funeral Home.

Ed passed away Aug. 21, 2021. He was born Jan. 27, 1936, on the family farm in Minco. Ed was a farmer all his life. 

Ed is survived by his wife, Linda of the home; sons, Ken Schutten of Anderson, Mo., and Travis Schutten of Minco; sister, Janelle Clum of Houston; and five grandchildren.

Billye McKelvey

Body

Mass of Christian Burial for Billye Dean McKelvey was held Thursday at Sacred Heart Church with Rev. Lance Warren and Deacon Lloyd Menz officiating. Burial was at St. Joseph Cemetery in Union City under the direction of Huber-Benson Funeral Home.

Billye died Aug. 23, 2021, at her home in El Reno. She was born Aug. 18, 1951, in El Reno and graduated from Star Spencer High School.

She was a cook at Darlington School and a member of Sacred Heart Church.

Charles Ray Eisenhour

Charles Ray Eisenhour went to his heavenly home on Aug. 21, 2021, at the age of 93.

A celebration of his life will be held Thursday, Aug. 26, 2021, at 10 a.m. at First Baptist Church in El Reno, with interment in the Evergreen Cemetery in Minco. Services are under the direction of Huber-Benson Funeral Home.

Charles was born April 11, 1928, the third of six children to George and Bernice Eisenhour. He was raised on a farm southwest of Minco and grew up doing farm work.
