Services for Mary Alice Younger will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 16 at Sunrise Baptist Church, with burial to follow at the El Reno Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday, Dec. 15 at Wilson Funeral Home from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Family will be present for the entire duration.

Pauline O’Neal

In loving memory of Pauline B. O’Neal, a beloved 88-year-old mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother, who passed away Dec. 6, 2023, surrounded by family and friends.

She departed this world after a severe fall, leaving behind a legacy of love.

She was born Dec. 26, 1934, in Okarche, the daughter of Elsie and Alfred Higgins. From a young age, she exhibited a zest for life and a curiosity that would shape her remarkable journey. She completed her education at Okarche High School.

Patty Jimerson

Body

Patty Jean Jimerson passed away peacefully on Dec. 1, 2023, in Norman. She was born Nov. 18, 1936, in Chickasha to Rua and Marvis Choice. She grew up in El Reno, where she attended El Reno High School. During high school, she was a member of the girls quartet, a member of the All-State Choir, and was the Band Queen. She clearly had a wonderful gift of music.

Karen Niles Olive

Body

Services for Karen D. Niles Olive will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 9 at First Christian Church with Revs. Colton Lott and Tara Dew officiating. Burial will follow at Buena Vista Cemetery under the direction of Huber-Benson Funeral Home.   

Karen died Dec. 5, 2023, at St. Katharine Drexel Retirement Center in El Reno. She was born Feb. 8, 1938, in El Reno. She earned a bachelor’s degree in Library Science with a minor in Youth Christian Ministry from Phillips University and a master’s degree from the University of Oklahoma.

Lester Hacker

Body

Services for Lester Dewane Hacker of Lake Tawakoni, Texas, a former Minco resident, will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 8 at Hazel Dell Baptist Church. Burial with military honors will follow at the Friendship Cemetery, under the direction of Huber-Reynolds Funeral Home.

Gerald Francis Erbar

Body

Gerald Francis Erbar was born Jan. 14, 1949, in Okarche, the only son to John Francis “Buck” Erbar and Georgia Lucille “Cille” Baker. He grew up in El Reno before moving to the family farm at age 7. Jerry loved that part of his life and often reminisced about working on the farm and his dog, King.

Jerry was a graduate of El Reno High School Class of 1967. During high school, Jerry and his friend, Larry Bross started a hay hauling business to make some extra money hauling hay from sun-up to well after sunset. They always liked working late because it meant cooler work conditions.

Mary Sue Dorey

Body

Mary Sue Dorey passed away peacefully on Monday, Nov. 20, 2023, in Poteau, Okla., at the age of 91 years. Mary Sue was born in Panama, Okla., on Feb. 25, 1932, to Dan and Mary (McNabb) Currens.

Funeral services will be held in Poteau in the chapel of Evans & Miller Funeral Home on Monday, Nov. 27 at 2 p.m. Interment will be at Oakland Cemetery in Poteau after the service. Open visitation will be Sunday, Nov. 26 from 1 to 4 p.m.

Prayer service for Louise Margaret Bosler Carel will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 24 at St. Joseph Church in Union City.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 25, also at St. Joseph Church, with Rev. Lance Warren and Deacon Lloyd Menz officiating. Burial will be in the St. Joseph Cemetery under the direction of Huber-Benson Funeral Home.

Fred Dean Wolf

Body

Fred Dean Wolf of El Reno died unexpectedly but peacefully on Nov. 9, 2023, at the age of 88. Fred was born May 3, 1935, in Arkansas City, Kan., to Fred St. Clair and Mary Jane Wolf. He attended Arkansas City High School where he met the love of his life, Marjorie May Ramsey, while practicing for a musical stage production in their junior year. They graduated from ACHS in 1953 and were married June 22, 1954.

Thomas Joseph Rother

Body

Thomas Joseph Rother passed away with all his family at his bedside on Friday, Nov. 17, 2023, at St. Katharine Drexel in El Reno. Tom was born to Franz and Gertrude (Smith) Rother on June 2, 1940, in Okarche.

Tom graduated from Holy Trinity Catholic High School in 1958. He was a lifelong resident of the community in which he farmed and was a rural mail carrier for 30 years. He also served in the Oklahoma Air National Guard.
