George Decker Sr.

Body

George E. Decker Sr. passed away Friday, Jan. 12, 2024, at the home he shared with his grandson and wife and great-granddaughter.

He was born Dec. 6, 1925, in El Reno to Sarah (Flint) and George Decker.

George was a graduate of El Reno High School and lifetime resident.

He served with the U.S. Navy on the USS Enterprise in the Battle of Midway.

He married Doris Lee Allen in 1945. They were happily married until her death in December 2001.

Helen Jones

Helen Virginia (Green) Jones of El Reno passed from this life on Jan. 13, 2024. Helen was born Aug. 13, 1934, to C.G. and Lula Bernard (Tarpley) Green. She was one of four children.

Helen met the love of her life, James A. Jones, when she was 14 and he was 15. Upon his return from Korea, Helen married her Marine on Aug. 1, 1952, in Van Buren, Ark. They enjoyed starting out their life together in the married couples military housing at Camp Pendleton, Oceanside, Calif., later moving to San Diego, Calif., after Jim was honorably discharged from the U.S. Marine Corps.

Rosary for Bob G. Schweitzer will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 17 at Benson Memorial Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 18 at Sacred Heart Church with Rev. Cory Stanley and Deacon Lloyd Menz officiating. Burial will be at Red Rock Cemetery under the direction of Huber-Benson Funeral Home.

Funeral services for Charleece Anderson McBee, 93, of El Reno, were held Wednesday, Jan. 10 at Highland Baptist Church with burial following in the El Reno Cemetery. Services were under the direction of Wilson Funeral Home.

Charleece passed away peacefully Jan. 6, 2024, at Integris Hospice House in Oklahoma City. She was born June 3, 1930, in El Reno to Wilbur Reuben and Glenda Opal (Duncan) Anderson. She was a 1948 graduate of El Reno High School.

She worked at Stevenson’s Grocery as a bookkeeper until the store was sold, then worked at Wal-Mart until retirement.

Billie Louise Mirth

Billie Louise Mirth passed away from this life on Jan. 6, 2024, at the age of 89.

Billie loved her family. She was Mom to Michael, who preceded her in death, Brad and wife, Lori, and Scott and wife, Darla. She was Granny to Kait and husband, Nathan, Frankie and partner, Derek, Aly and husband, Chad, Danielle and partner, Austin, John, Rachael, Dylan, Thomas and Audrey. She was Great-Granny to Ryker, Alysen, Hazel, June and Bea.

She was a born-again Christian who cherished her friends and family, especially her Gann cousins.

Ellen Hacker

Services for Ellen L. Hacker of Minco were held Jan. 6 at the Minco Church of Christ, with burial following in the Evergreen Cemetery. Services were under the direction of Huber-Reynolds Funeral Home.

Ellen passed away Jan. 3, 2024, at St. Katharine Drexel in El Reno. She was born Dec. 14, 1930, in Purcell. She grew up in the Pocasset community, graduating from Pocasset High School.

She then attained her master’s degree from Oklahoma Women’s College (now USAO) in Chickasha. She moved to Minco in 1973, where she taught third grade at Minco schools until her retirement.

Services for Agnes Estella “Aggie” Siegrist of Yukon will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 10 at First Presbyterian Church in El Reno with Rev. Jan Burns-Hintze officiating. Viewing and visitation will be held at Wilson Funeral Home on Tuesday, Jan. 9 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., with family present from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Burial will be in the Kingfisher Memorial Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Wilson Funeral Home.

Funeral services for Edward Ray McDaniel of Fort Worth, Texas, will be held at 9 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 10 at 4300 Ramona Avenue, Dallas, Texas, with burial at 11:15 a.m. at DFW National Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Golden Gate Funeral Home.

Mr. McDaniel passed away Dec. 29, 2023. He was born Feb. 7, 1949, in El Reno to his parents, Donald Ray McDaniel and Maxine Handy McDaniel. He attended Booker T. Washington High School and received an associate degree from Redlands Community College.

Adrienne Harjo

Wake service for Adrienne Harjo will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, with funeral services set for 10 a.m. Tuesday. Both services will be held in the Benson Memorial Chapel, with burial in the Concho Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Huber-Benson Funeral Home.

Adrienne died Jan. 2, 2024, at Clinton Regional Hospital. She was born June 4, 1975, in Lawton. Her early years were spent in Oklahoma City and Watonga before moving to El Reno where she graduated from El Reno High School.

Juanita Doolittle

Body

Juanita Charlene (Ashley) Doolittle, a resident of Claremore, passed away with grace and dignity on Dec. 23, 2023, at the age of 75. 

A celebration of life service was held in the chapel at DeLozier Funeral Service in Chelsea on Thursday, Jan. 4, with burial following at Dawes Cemetery in Chelsea.

Charlene was born Oct. 30, 1948, to the late Charlie Nelson Ashley and the late Almeda Ree (Christopher) Ashley in El Reno. Charlene was the second of five children and graduated from El Reno High School in 1966.
