Coming to America

Body

Growing up in the Czech Republic, Amalie Kalcevova was focused on two simple life goals - see the world and go to college.

“I wanted to experience a new culture, new people and get better at English before I go to college,” said Kalcevova.

So what does a teenager in the capitol city of Prague, with a population of 1.4 million people, do to achieve such ambitions?

Kalcevova turned to the world of sports, more specifically, softball.

“I’ve been playing softball for a long time and I always wanted to go to the United States for college.”
