While he agrees with the chatter that Ardmore is not the same team it was a year ago, El Reno head coach Chuck Atchison knows the talent level with the Tigers is just as good as ever.

“They are a different team from last year because they don't have all those players that had been there for several years. But they are still good and they have got players that are fast and a defense which is not giving up very much.

“They are still a typical Ardmore team,” said Atchison.

After putting up 19 runs against Ardmore, El Reno High School’s softball team's offense cooled off in back-to-back losses last week.

El Reno dropped a 9-7 home game to Weatherford, the runner-up in District 4A-3, before hitting the road for a 9-1 loss to Class 6A power Edmond North.

Both losses were to teams with a combined 43 wins.

The non-district setbacks dropped El Reno to 19-12 on the season going into next week’s regional tourney.

The Memorial Stadium Rededication Ceremony kicked into gear on Friday.

After more than 20 months of eager anticipation by virtually all of the community, the massively ambitious project was finally finished.

Families of the 44 proudly discussed their lost loved ones, and the memorial monument was unveiled to a crowd waiting with baited breath.
One of the most anticipated events of the evening was the flyover by the B-17G war bird, the Texas Raiders.
