GIRL – Erin and Robert Morris of Denton, Texas, are parents of a girl, Emilia June, born May 26 in Lewisville, Texas. Emilia weighed 7 pounds, 11 ounces and measured 20.5 inches in length.
Maternal grandparents are Glen and Stacey Miller of El Reno.
Great-grandparents are the late Archie and Verlin Miller and the late David and Shirley Shelton.
Paternal grandparents are Gart and Kelley Morris of Jenks.
Great-grandparents are June Morris of Owasso and the late Bob Morris and Geneva Crow of Rowland, Ark., and the late Vernon Crow.
The following is a letter by Joe Mogg, father of Austin Mogg. Austin suffered a serious eye injury several weeks ago.
As most of you know, my son, Austin Mogg suffered a serious and life-changing eye injury this summer, on Memorial Day.
Brennen Matthews, author of Miles to Go, an African family in search of America along Route 66, will be signing copies of his book and discussing it with Ken Busby on Saturday, July 1 in Oklahoma City. Busby is the executive director and CEO of the Route 66 Alliance.
The event will be at 2 p.m. inside the 21c Hotel and Museum, 900 West Main.
Lamplighters OHCE of Canadian County met recently at Mt. Zion Methodist Church.
Carol Stine called the meeting to order and led in the Pledge of Allegiance, while also offering the devotional and prayer titled “Blessings to Come.”
Roll call was answered by naming each person’s favorite role model, with grandmothers being the favorite choice.
Maxine Little read minutes of the previous meeting and gave the treasury report. She also presented the leader lesson on “Oklahoma Women in History.”
The Underwood OHCE met recently at a local coffee shop. Members present were Natalia Valenzuela, Bernita Davis, Janan Fletcher, Vicki Duncan and Delpha Miklautsch.
Roll call was answered by saying who is/was your female role model.
Davis read minutes from the previous meeting, while Fletcher gave the treasurer’s report.
Six high school students from Oklahoma Virtual Charter Academy spent four days in Washington, D.C., as part of a school trip where they met with Rep. Stephanie Bice.
The students also visited iconic sites including the White House and the 9/11 and Washington Memorials, and experienced a performance at the Kennedy Center.

Students listed on the President’s Honor Roll have completed 12 or more credit hours and have earned a GPA of not less than 3.8, with no grade less than a B – excluding 0-level courses.
The Vice President’s Honor Roll includes students who have completed 12 or more hours of coursework and have earned a GPA of 3.5 to 3.79, with no grade less than a C – excluding 0-level courses.
