Pushing four of its five players to sub-par 80 scores, El Reno High School’s boys golf team shot its season-low round to take third place in the 2025 Tecumseh Invitational.

Playing at Firelake Golf Course in Shawnee, El Reno carded a 305 to finish 20 strokes back of meet winner McAlester with a 285.

North Rock Creek was runner-up with a 302.

Jackson Albrecht led the Indians with a 3-over par round of 73 (34-39) to place fifth in the individual medalist chase. Charles Woolworth (37-40) and Baylor Pearson (38-39) tied for 17th with duplicate 77s.

Both on the road and at the Hub Reed Complex, El Reno High School’s baseball team was one hit away from making some big noise in the District 5A-1 standings.

El Reno dropped a 2-1 road decision to league leader Carl Albert, leaving six base runners stranded, including the bases loaded in the sixth inning.

Five of the unaccounted runners were in scoring position.

In the home rematch with the Titans, El Reno left nine runners stranded in a 4-1 loss, including the bases jammed in the second inning. Five of those left were potential runs.

Juniors Lily Hayes and Madison Rochdi each scored a hat trick to lead El Reno High School’s girls soccer team to a 7-0 shutout of Guthrie to remain tied with Carl Albert for the District 5A-2 lead.

El Reno improved to 4-4 on the season and 2-0 in the league standings with its second straight shutout and fourth on the season.

Hayes scored two of her three goals in the first half. Rochdi and Conley Knapp added one each as El Reno led 4-0 at the break.

Despite winning the shot count in the second half, El Reno High School’s boys soccer team struggled to find the net in a 2-0 loss to Guthrie in District 5A-2 play.

The loss dropped El Reno to 3-5 on the season and 0-2 in the district standings, tied with Western Heights for seventh.

El Reno trailed 1-0 at the half after Guthrie scored with 7:40 left after getting one of 14 shots past EHS keeper Aldo De La Torre, who had eight saves in the first half.

Class 5A’s third-ranked El Reno High School’s girls golf team posted back-to-back runner-up finishes last week within a 24-hour period.

El Reno placed second at the 2025 Elk City Invitational with a season-low 343 tally, finishing 10 strokes back of Clinton, the top-ranked team in Class 4A.

Freshman Radley Miller led the way for El Reno with her season-low round of 77, placing third in the individual medalist race.

Lily Elliott carded an 82 to close in ninth place, followed by Skylar Ayers in 17th place with a round of 91.

Carson Cooper logged Calumet High School’s lone base hits in a 4-0 loss to top-ranked Fort Cobb-Broxton as the Chieftains had a two-game win streak snapped in the shutout loss.

Calumet, ranked second in the same Class B poll, slipped to 6-4-1 with its second loss this spring to the Mustangs. The Chieftains were coming off wins over Class A-I’s eighth-ranked Okarche (5-1) and Blackwell (15-3).

The Chieftains went 20-of-66 (.303) from the plate for the three games with only two extra base hits on doubles by Kyler Thiessen and Kingston Arnold.

All three Canadian County slow-pitch softball teams ended losing streaks last week as Okarche High School defeated Class A’s 10th-ranked Covington-Douglas 5-4.

Okarche moved to 8-5 on the season and snapped a four-game slide that included losses to Hinton (5-0), Shattuck (14-0) and Apache (16-0) in the Highway 152 Classic.

In that classic, the Warriors got two hits from Chesney Black and one each from Kayla Kremeier, Katie Parham, Callie Cramer, Belle Beam and Harper White.

Tigers win three

The team and individual titles from the Women’s Oklahoma Collegiate Athletic Conference Championship will remain with Redlands Community College’s golf team for a fourth straight season.

Playing at Firelake Golf Course in Shawnee, Redlands shot a 36-hole total of 601 that included a season-low effort of 296. The Cougars shot a 305 in the afternoon round to win by 48 shots over Murray State College (649). Seminole State College was third at 706.

OKLAHOMA CITY – Senior Conley Knapp scored a pair of goals in just over two minutes to cap off the scoring for El Reno High School’s girls soccer team in a 5-0 shutout of Classen SAS.

El Reno moved to 3-4 on the season and 1-0 in District 5A-2 play with its third shutout of the year. The Indians are tied with Carl Albert (2-0) and Guthrie (1-0) for the league lead.

OKLAHOMA CITY – Classen SAS scored a penalty kick and added a goal in the final minute to record a 3-0 win over El Reno High School’s boys soccer team.

The loss dropped El Reno to 3-4 on the season and 0-1 in the District 5A-2 standings, which moved the Indians to fifth place.

El Reno allowed one goal in the 14th minute of the first half as keeper Aldo De La Torre logged seven saves at the break and had 12 for the match.
