Redlands Community College’s baseball team went into a four-game series with Murray State with a chance of making the field for the NJCAA Region 2, Division 2 Championships.

The Cougars are 26-24 on the season and 5-15 in the regional standings after splitting a series with Carl Albert and beating Western Oklahoma (21-11). Redlands’ wins over the Vikings were by scores of 14-10 and 9-7 and the losses were 6-3 and 5-2.

Redlands went 57-of-164 (.348) from the plate with 11 doubles.

Despite two home runs from junior Mason Fulton, El Reno High School’s baseball team was unable to break free from a recent losing streak following a 15-5 home setback to Weatherford.

El Reno falls to 12-8-2 overall with its fourth straight loss.

With Davin Shamblin on board with a single, Fulton hit his second home run of the season with a blast over the wall in left center field in the bottom of the first.

Gavin Tinsley and Dawson Davidson followed with walks before Blake Bailey doubled off the wall to drive in a run and tie the score at 3-all.

Winning the District 5A-2 Championship got a little tougher for El Reno High School’s girls soccer team following last week’s 7-2 loss to Bishop McGuinness.

The road setback snapped a four-match win streak for El Reno and dropped the Indians from a first-place tie with the Irish to alone in third place with a 4-1 record.

McGuinness leads the league at 5-0, followed by Carl Albert at 5-1 and the Indians, who take a 6-5 overall record into home matches this week with Del City and the Titans.

Haven Fleenor and Conley Knapp scored the goals for El Reno.

El Reno High School’s boys soccer team dropped into a tie for sixth place in the District 5A-2 standings with a 5-0 road loss to league-leader Bishop McGuinness.

The Indians, who were outshot 49-0 by the Irish, slipped to 4-7 on the season and 1-4 in the league standings.

El Reno is tied with Western Heights but owns the head-to-head tiebreaker over the Jets.

El Reno goalkeeper Aldo De la Torre faced all 49 shots, with 28 on target. He allowed the five goals but logged 14 saves, one of those a penalty kick.

Freshman Radley Miller placed fourth as an individual medalist to pace El Reno High School’s girls golf team to a third-place finish at the 2025 Carl Albert Invitational.

Class 5A’s top-ranked Carl Albert won the team title with a 324, while No. 7 Lawton MacArthur carded a 357 and third-ranked El Reno a 358. Bixby (369) and Oklahoma Christian School (370) rounded out the top five.

The event also served as the 2025 Suburban Conference Championships, with the Titans grabbing the team title and El Reno as runner-up. Guthrie (375) placed third.

Wind and tricky greens on the south course at Earlywine took its toll on El Reno High School’s boys golf team, which placed 10th at the 2025 Tuttle Tigers Invitational.

El Reno carded a 350 - the third best score among Class 5A teams entered - but left the Indians 54 strokes behind winner Crossings Christian (296) and 24 shots out of the top five.

Baylor Pearson led the team for a second straight tourney with an 82 to place the junior in a tie for 22nd in the individual medalist chase.

Jacen Bear shot an 83, which left him in a tie for 26th.

The lack of key hits on offense and too many errors on defense may have cost El Reno High School’s baseball team a shot at hosting a regional for the upcoming Class 5A playoffs.

Needing to sweep its final two doubleheaders in District 5A-1 play, El Reno dropped a set to Noble last week by scores of 8-1 and 10-0 to slip into third place in the league standings.

El Reno, now 12-7-2 on the year, is tied with Guthrie at 8-4 but currently holds a 54-51 edge in tiebreaker points over the Bluejays. The teams open a two-game set Monday at the Hub Reed Complex.

Freshman Ethan Brooks won his first varsity race on the hardtop last week as El Reno High School’s track teams posted top 10 finishes at the 2025 Route 66 Classic in Chandler.

Brooks accounted for 16 of the 38 points for the boys, who placed seventh overall out of 24 teams.

He won the 1,600-meter run with a time of four minutes and 42.05 seconds, earning 10 points, and beating Metro Christian’s Owen Schwerdtfeger by over eight seconds.

The other six points came off a third-place effort in the 800-meter run in 2:02.34.

Senior Conley Knapp scored a hat trick in the first 20 minutes en route to a career-high five goals as El Reno High School’s girls soccer team scored a 10-0 mercy-rule victory over Western Heights.

With its fifth shutout of the season, El Reno moved to 6-4 on the season and 4-0 in the District 5A-2 standings. The Indians were tied with Bishop McGuinness both in record and tiebreaker points.

The match was stopped in the 28th minute of the second half when Knapp took a pass from Haven Fleenor and kicked in a left-footed goal, her fifth of the night, off 10 attempts.
