Union City, CHS drop slow-pitch outings
Despite a 19-hit attack, Union City High School’s slow-pitch softball team wound up on the short end of a 22-14 offensive slugfest with Class A’s 18th-ranked Fort Cobb/Broxton.
The Tigers, ranked sixth in Class 2A, slipped to 15-9 on the year with the loss.
The two teams combined for 39 base hits.
Union City went 19-of-43 (.442) from the plate with two doubles from Emily Griggs. The senior led all batters with a 4-of-5 effort with four runs batted in.
