El Reno High School’s track teams posted several high finishes in the 2024 Suburban Conference Track and Field Championships despite the boys team missing several key runners. The missing pieces forced the boys to run only freshmen in the relay events.

Guthrie loaded the bases in four of the first six innings, twice in two of those frames, resulting in 10 runs as the Bluejays completed a district sweep of El Reno High School’s baseball team. The Bluejays 10-3 win over El Reno at the Hub Reed Complex came on the heels of a 5-3 win in Guthrie.

With three players shooting under 100, El Reno High School secured a spot in the 12-team team field for the 2024 Class 5A State Golf Championships set to begin Monday in Muskogee.

Shooting one of its lowest rounds in close to a decade, El Reno High School’s boys golf team won the 2024 Lawton Eisenhower Match Play Shootout by 14 strokes. Playing the Lawton Country Club Course, El Reno carded a season-low 308 to win over Cache (322). Lawton MacArthur (352) was a distant third.

El Reno High School’s tennis team defeated Del City last week at the Legion Park courts by a 6-1 score. Senior Bri Barksdale strides into a forehand return shot in her No.1 doubles match with partner Jayna Graham. Jim Rinehart just misses chasing down a return shot in his No.2 singles match.

Canadian County’s three slow-pitch softball teams made an early exit from their respective playoff runs despite two squads reaching the championship games at the district level.

Calumet High School’s baseball team started its journey back to the Class B State Championships with a one-day sweep of two squads to capture the District 1 Championship.

El Reno Chamber of Commerce Director Karen Nance presented a collage of articles from the El Reno Tribune about the El Reno High School Lady Indians state basketball championship team to EHS coaches and Superintendent Matt Goucher.

Keeping up the pressure on Guthrie for third place, El Reno High School’s baseball team swept two games from U.S Grant last week at the Hub Reed Complex. El Reno defeated the Generals 21-0 in the first game after scoring 12 runs in the bottom of the second inning with one out.

Despite a hard-fought battle, El Reno High School’s boys soccer team closed out District 5A-2 play with a 2-0 home loss to Carl Albert. The loss dropped El Reno to 1-6 in league play as the Indians finished in seventh place. The win boosted Carl Albert into third place in the standings.
