Members of El Reno High School Class of 1959 gathered recently for lunch.

The El Reno Arts Council is inviting all children to come to Gadberry Park at 4 p.m. Friday, Aug. 12 to take part in the “Art in the Park” program. Kids can spend an hour learning stamp art creation. The program is free. Gadberry Park is located just south of the 400 block of Amity Lane.

El Reno High School Class of 1956 held a get-together recently at a local restaurant with 11 graduates and three spouses attending. If this group was still having reunions, this would be their 66th. They try to meet once a month, with the next gathering set for 10:20 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 23.

The Underwood Oklahoma Home and Community Education Association of Canadian County met recently at a local restaurant with Neta Liebscher as hostess. Lester Liebscher was welcomed as a visitor. Natalia Valenzuela called the meeting to order.

A stray rain shower Wednesday night resulted in a double rainbow, first photo, to form over El Reno. The second photo shows the same rainbow but with just a solo arc visible.  

The 125 descendants of Elmo and Agnes Finnigan held their annual reunion recently at Roman Nose State Park.

Lamplighters OHCE of Canadian County met recently at a local church, with Carol Stine offering the devotional titled “I’m Not Crazy After All.” Maxine Little read minutes of the previous meeting, while Patricia Morrison gave the treasury report.

Project Transformation recently celebrated Christmas in July. The celebrations included Christmas crafts, music and decorations throughout Wesley United Methodist Church. Each of the campers and teachers received Santa hats to wear all week.
