County officials will decide whether to require masks to be worn by employees and visitors to their respective offices.
County commissioners left in place the mask policy that has been in place at Canadian County offices since earlier this year. The decision not to make a change came during Monday’s meeting, but followed a lengthy discussion on the policies.

A race has developed for the Ward 1 El Reno City Council seat.
Canadian County Election Board Secretary Wanda Armold said Jacqueline Stevenson-Smith, 42, filed for the seat on Monday, while Steve Jensen, 53, filed on Tuesday. The filing period closes at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 26.
The position will be filled in the Nov. 3 General Election, with the top vote-getter winning the term that runs until Nov. 12, 2024.
On a sun-drenched Saturday a crowd estimated at some 2,000 converged on the El Reno Regional Airport for the first-ever Fly-In and Community Day.
What they saw was history take to the skies as some 80 airplanes, many with military backgrounds, rested along the open areas of the airport, while vintage planes zipped into the air, taking passengers for rides and providing an aerial show not seen here in years.

The El Reno Indian Health Center will take a big step forward on Thursday, Aug. 27 with the groundbreaking for a new Indian Health Center. The event will be at 11 a.m. in the 1800 block of Parkview Drive. Physical distancing measures and masks will be required for all who attend.
The new 16,000-square-foot health center will provide much-needed space to expand health-care services that will include dental, optometry, podiatry, audiology and general radiology as well as physical therapy.

El Reno Regional Airport will host its first-ever Fly-In and Community Day on Saturday, Aug. 22, but an unexpected fly-in Monday evening happened when a plane was forced to make an emergency landing near the airport.
The pilot of the single-engine airplane made an emergency landing in farm fields northwest of the airport after encountering instrument trouble.
According to Airport Manager Adam Fox, the pilot told him he was in communication with Wiley Post Airport at the time of the emergency and was diverting to El Reno.
