Shirley Rade

Graveside services for Shirley Jane Rade were held Friday at the Niles Cemetery in Hinton. Services were under the direction of Turner Funeral Home.

Shirley passed away Jan. 22, 2024, in Hydro. She was born July 22, 1939, in Geary. She grew up in the Geary area and attended Geary Public Schools.

She lived in El Reno for many years.

Shirley is survived by her sister-in-law, Charlotte Majors of Hinton, and several nieces and nephews.

Roy Lee Crawford

Body

Roy “Butch” Lee Crawford passed away peacefully on Jan. 21, 2024, in El Reno. He was born Aug. 10, 1950, the son of Clarence and Eulene (Allen) Crawford.

Roy spent his childhood on a farm, where he learned the value of hard work and the importance of family. He attended Oak School and Maple School before graduating from El Reno High School in 1968.

After completing his education, Roy pursued a career in the oil field industry and found great joy in driving a truck.

Marilyn Estes Clark

Body

Marilyn Estes Clark, 86, of La Canada and Newport Beach, Calif., passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Jan. 5, 2024.

Marilyn was born in El Reno on Dec. 10, 1937, to Eugene Earl Estes and Idamae Florence Russ Estes. Her family lived on a farm in El Reno where Marilyn developed a love for animals and learned the value of hard work.

Her father died suddenly of a heart attack when she was 16 years old, leaving Marilyn, her mother and her younger brother, Jerry to keep the farm running.

Cassie Hardin

Cassie Brunkhurst Hardin, born Feb. 5, 1936, died peacefully surrounded by family on Jan. 5, 2024.

She attended El Reno High School, married and raised her family in El Reno for over 30 years.

She was preceded in death by her son, Ray Brunkhurst Jr..

Cassie is survived by her daughters, Linda Presley and husband, Glenn, and Connie Carnott and husband, James, along with several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Per her wishes, Cassie’s body was donated to science.

Jean Ann Widdifield

Services for Jean Ann Widdifield will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 25 at Ingram, Smith and Turner Mortuary in Yukon. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday.

Jean Ann, a compassionate and dedicated registered nurse, passed away peacefully on Jan. 15, 2024, at the age of 67.

Peyton Churn

Body

Peyton was a loving husband, father, PaPa and friend.

He was born in Chillicothe, Ohio, on Oct. 29, 1954, and passed away Jan. 17, 2024, in El Reno, where he lived most of his life.

Peyton leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife of 50 years, Dana Girard Churn, and his loving granddaughter who was the light of his life, Peyton Kay Churn.

Barbra Haffner

Funeral services for Barbra Jean Haffner of Minco were held Monday, Jan. 22 at First Baptist Church of Minco, with burial following at the Evergreen Cemetery. Services were under the direction of Huber-Reynolds Funeral Home.

Jean passed away Jan. 17, 2024, at her home. She was born Aug. 8, 1935, in Norman, and attended Capitol Hill High School.

She moved to Minco in 1972, where she served on the Minco City Council from 1987-1992. She had worked at the Grady County Courthouse and Minco Gas Authority. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Minco.

Linda Wilburn

Funeral services for Linda Kay Wilburn of Blanchard were held Saturday, Jan. 20 at the Minco Assembly of God Church, with burial at the Evergreen Cemetery. Services were under the direction of Huber-Reynolds Funeral Home.

Linda passed away Jan. 16, 2024, at Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City.

She was born Jan. 1, 1954, in Chickasha. She was raised in the Minco community, graduating from Minco High School in 1972.

Linda served as Minco City Clerk from 1986-2004. She was a volunteer first responder and member of the Minco Assembly of God Church.

George Decker Sr.

Body

George E. Decker Sr. passed away Friday, Jan. 12, 2024, at the home he shared with his grandson and wife and great-granddaughter.

He was born Dec. 6, 1925, in El Reno to Sarah (Flint) and George Decker.

George was a graduate of El Reno High School and lifetime resident.

He served with the U.S. Navy on the USS Enterprise in the Battle of Midway.

He married Doris Lee Allen in 1945. They were happily married until her death in December 2001.

Helen Jones

Body

Helen Virginia (Green) Jones of El Reno passed from this life on Jan. 13, 2024. Helen was born Aug. 13, 1934, to C.G. and Lula Bernard (Tarpley) Green. She was one of four children.

Helen met the love of her life, James A. Jones, when she was 14 and he was 15. Upon his return from Korea, Helen married her Marine on Aug. 1, 1952, in Van Buren, Ark. They enjoyed starting out their life together in the married couples military housing at Camp Pendleton, Oceanside, Calif., later moving to San Diego, Calif., after Jim was honorably discharged from the U.S. Marine Corps.
