Robert Lee Sweetland of Longmont, Colo., passed away July 13, 2023, here in Colorado. Robert was born July 15, 1949, in Fort Collins, Colo.

Husband to Anita Millerd Sweetland for 56 years. They were married on June 27, 1967, in Evergreen, Colo.

Father to Tonya Sweetland Dickett and Wendell and Robert Lee Sweetland Jr. and Caren.

Grandfather (Gamma) to Austin and Samantha Pickett, Benjamin, Jushua, Jonathan and Alexander Sweetland.

Brother to Tom Sweetland and Vickie, Sue Risley (death 2020) and Waine, and Tad Millard and Linda.

Mildred Miller

Mildred (Micki) Ann Miller (Schumacher, Bollinger), age 81, passed away Friday, June 16, 2023, at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa. She was born June 29, 1941, in Union City to Pete and Ester Schumacher. She had three older sisters, Jane, Marguerite and Madeline.

Micki was married to Jerald Bollinger and they had four children together.

Mass of Christian Burial for Johanna Marie Bollinger will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph Church in Union City with Rev. Lance Warren officiating. Burial will be at the El Reno Cemetery under the direction of Huber-Benson Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 1:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday at Huber-Benson, with the family present from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Robert Miller

Body

Robert “Bob” Eugene Miller, 70, of El Reno, passed away July 24, 2023, in El Reno, after a battle with Hunington’s disease. 

Bob was born Jan. 17, 1953, in Long Beach, Calif., to William Walter and Bertha Irene Miller.

He married Theresa Rose on Aug. 12, 1973, and from this union came their two children, Christy and Shawn. Bob and Theresa remained friends following their divorce in 2005 as they shared the same great love for their children and grandchildren.

Bob spent his working years as a plumber.

Douglas Murphy

Body

Douglas Shane Murphy, better known as Doug, died July 31, 2023, at the age of 60 years old. He was born July 11, 1963, and was a lifelong resident of Union City.

Throughout his life, Doug always enjoyed spending time with those he loved.

He was an avid deer hunter in his younger years, something he shared with his brother, David. He was loved by many and will be greatly missed. 

Doug was preceded in death by his father, Kelly Murphy, and his two brothers, David Murphy and Derrick “Dusty” Murphy.

Clyde Gene Miller

Clyde Gene Miller was born June 22, 1941, in El Reno to Homer James and Gladys Doretha (Eaton) Miller. Clyde grew up southwest of Calumet. He graduated from Calumet High School in the Class of 1959 and graduated from Capital Business University in 1961 and attended El Reno College.

Clyde was involved in farming for many years. He worked for Canadian County for 28 1/2 years, serving as Canadian County Court Clerk the last 17 1/2 years, retiring in 1990.

Edward Metz

Funeral services for Edward Dennis Metz of El Reno will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 4 at First Christian Church. Burial will be in the El Reno Cemetery under the direction of Huber-Benson Funeral Home.

Ed died July 29, 2023, at El Reno Post-Acute Rehabilitation Home. He was born Oct. 7, 1931, in Tulsa to Edward Sr. and Cleo Metz.

Ed was preceded in death by his wife, Jyene Metz; his parents; his son, Edward; and sister and brother-in-law, Pearl and John Gates.

Terry Wooldridge

Terry Dale Wooldridge passed away Friday, July 28, 2023, at his home in Medicine Park.

He was born Feb. 4, 1961, the youngest child of Jimmie Jack and Tawina Wooldridge. He was raised in Minco and graduated from Minco High School in 1979.

Terry was employed in different manufacturing jobs and was a skilled welder and loved to play and coach softball.

Nadine Taylor Archer

Funeral services for Nadine (Lott) Taylor Archer will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 4 at Huber-Benson Funeral Home. Burial will be at the El Reno Cemetery following the service.

Nadine passed away July 29, 2023, at her home. She was born Oct. 9, 1936, in Cougar to Hayden and Lorea Lott. She spent most of her life residing in El Reno.

She went to work for Canadian Valley Clinic in 1962 and eventually bought the business. Her goal was providing the community with the best health care possible.

Larry Reuter

Services for Larry Fred Reuter will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 3 at CrossBridge Nazarene Church with Revs. Matthew Lowry and Terry Rohlmeier officiating. Burial will follow at the El Reno Cemetery under the direction of Huber-Benson Funeral Home.

Larry died Saturday, July 29, 2023, at OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City. He was born Jan. 30, 1943, in Chickasha. He was a lifelong resident of El Reno, graduating from El Reno High School in 1961 and was a member of Future Farmers of America.
