The monument in the center of the new roundabout at the junction of U.S. Highway 81 and Route 66 is nearing completion.

The monument features a Route 66 logo on all four sides and the city’s name.

All four sides will be under lights at night.

OKLAHOMA CITY – A traffic stop in Union City has resulted in prison sentences for two Oklahoma City residents. 

Michael Dennis Miller, 46, has been sentenced to serve 84 months in federal prison for being a felon in possession of firearms and engaging in a drug conspiracy, said U.S. Attorney Robert J. Troester.

Workers from Dill Electric were up in the air this week, replacing lights at Joe Riley Field in Legion Park.

Chase Warren and John Thompson spent several hours on the project.

OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma has seen a 106 percent spike in the number of work zone fatalities, Oklahoma’s transportation secretary said this week.  

Tim Gatz, who also serves as the Oklahoma Department of Transportation executive director, said in 2023, there were 33 work zone fatalities in Oklahoma, a 106 percent increase above the prior year.

A spokesperson for the agency said those are the most available figures.
