Last weekend a nearly full blue moon could be seen in the western skies over Canadian County, opposite of the sun which was shining in the eastern skies.

The rays of the sun helped make the details of the moon’s surface more visible to the human eye and that of the camera.

Recently, both in our state and across the nation, numerous reports about potential threats to schools have circulated on social media.

Often, these messages lack specific information or location details. In many cases, a singular post has sparked widespread concerns, leading to copycat threats and disruptions across multiple states and communities.

The Pride of El Reno Marching Band will be moving its instruments from Marsh Hall to sporting events and contests this season and years to come in a new trailer which was purchased and wrapped in school colors and logos.

El Reno Superintendent Matt Goucher said the trailer was purchased through the state-bidding process, which provides a discounted price.

Goucher added the cost of the trailer and wrap was around $16,000.

ODOT work key benefit for Banner School

Body

A project described as critical near Banner School is moving forward.

An Oklahoma Department of Transportation (ODOT) contractor will be hired to make improvements to the intersection of Jensen and Banner roads, south of Interstate 40.

County commissioners last week approved four offers to purchase right-of-way along Banner Road for the future project.

Sellers are School District 31 (Banner Public Schools), Bogle Ventures LLC d/b/a The Palace Events Center, Williams Family Investments and Marik Family Revocable Trust.
