“People Like Us” is an award-winning documentary about the Center of Family Love in Okarche. 

Created by Nik Coleman of Coleman Television and produced by CFL Executive Director Debbie Espinosa and former CFL official Nellie Sanders, the documentary is scheduled to make its Oklahoma premiere April 15 in Oklahoma City.

In a recent radio interview after the El Reno Lady Indians went back-to-back as Oklahoma Class 5A Girls Basketball State Champions, head coach Jennifer Douglas said that El Reno was a “basketball town.”

The Blessing Baskets Families with Children Grocery Program is a shining example of community support, having made a tangible difference for over 175 families during the recent spring break distribution. 

As Blessing Baskets prepares for monthly grocery distributions during the summer, organizers are anticipating an increase in participation. 

“With the rising cost of groceries for families, we see more families in need of help,” said Donna Dyer, Blessing Baskets Director of Community Relations.

An arrest warrant has been issued for a semi-truck driver accused of causing the death of three people in a multi-vehicle traffic collision last fall on Interstate 40 in eastern Canadian County.

Peter Catto, 65, of British Columbia, was charged March 14 in Canadian County District Court with three counts of negligent homicide by motor vehicle.
