Cougars take step back with losses to Murray State, NEO

Redlands Community College men’s basketball team took a step back in late-season momentum following a home loss to Murray State and a road setback to Northeastern Oklahoma A&M.

The loss to the Aggies (79-74) and the Golden Norsemen (79-68) in Miami left the team with a 10-16 overall record.

The Cougars are 4-8 in the NJCAA Region 2 standings and remain tied for eighth.

Redlands scoring for the games was led by Damond Matthews with 30 points, nine rebounds and four steals.

Lamplighters OHCE holds meeting at Mount Zion

Lamplighters OHCE of Canadian County met recently at Mount Zion Global Methodist Church with Carol Stine calling the meeting to order.

Donna Wehmuller read a devotional titled “Restoration.”

Maxine Little read minutes from the last meeting, with Patricia Morrison giving the treasury report.

A thank-you card was read from ICAN stating appreciation for the club’s support.

Wehmuller presented the leader lesson on “Scam Alerts.”

Kemah Charcoal

Wake for Kemah Charcoal will begin at 6 p.m. Friday, Feb. 20, with funeral services at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 21, both at the Concho Emergency Response Center.

Burial will be in the Concho Cemetery under the direction of Huber-Benson Funeral Home. 

Kemah died Feb. 15, 2026, at his home in Oklahoma City.
