El Reno Public Schools first day of food distribution during the COVID-19 outbreak was a success, said Public Outreach Director Brooke Robertson. Between its four school sites and the stops made by the mobile van, some 400 meals were passed out to anyone ages 18 and under.

The city of El Reno will make changes to public accessibility of city buildings and city operating procedures. As of last Friday, there were no confirmed cases in El Reno but that is expected to change.

To ease the economic pain, the Golden Arches are making sure kids get a free meal. From March 23-27, El Reno McDonald’s will provide free dinners to kids ages 14 and younger, no questions asked. The idea came from Brian LaPat, owner and operator.

Kansas closed schools last week for the remainder of the 2019-20 term due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Administrators in Oklahoma are expected to do the same.
