AmeriHome Mortgage Company LLC vs. Julia D. Cook for $148,554.05 to pay a debt plus interest, costs and attorney fees and foreclosure of a mortgage on Lot 12, Block 2, Redstone Ranch Phase I Addition, Yukon.

U.S. Bank N.A. vs. Lynette Wright for $153,174 to pay a debt plus interest, costs and attorney fees and foreclosure of a mortgage on Lot 10, Block 1, Brookstone Lakes Phase I Addition, Oklahoma City.

American Express National Bank vs. Paul Dempsey for $52,262.43 to pay a debt plus interest, costs and attorney fees.

Congressman Frank Lucas and 24 House members, including Congressmen Tom Cole and Markwayne Mullin, sent a letter to U.S. Department of Agriculture Secretary Sonny Perdue asking him to release a beef pricing investigation’s findings to Congress as soon as possible.

The USDA initiated the investigation in August 2019 after a plant fire in Kansas, but recently expanded the investigation to include recent price changes.

The letter outlines the group’s concern about price changes when the country began taking measures to suppress COVID-19 infections.

A hearing on a lawsuit filed by an El Reno family that claims roadwork done by the county near their home caused thousands of dollars in flood damage has been postponed.

County commissioners, meeting in an executive session last week, discussed the lawsuit filed in September by Rhonda Steenbergen, Donald Erwin and a minor identified as M.S.

The case had been scheduled for a hearing April 24, but was moved to May 22 before District Judge Jack McCurdy. The delay is the result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Although the Canadian County Courthouse remains closed to the public because of COVID-19, judges and their staff continue to work from the courthouse.

The judges are working on rotating shifts from the courthouse or from home.

One district judge and one special judge, along with their bailiffs and a court reporter are available and working in the courthouse, District Judge Jack McCurdy and District Judge Paul Hesse said in a prepared statement.
