El Reno’s new ward map approved by narrow vote

Body

El Reno will have a slightly different city council ward map after the new version was adopted in a 3-2 vote.

The new ward map was one of three choices offered to the council and was described by City Planner Dustin Downey as the one making the least change to the previous map.

Mayor Matt White and Ward 3 Council member Tim Robinson voted against the proposal chosen by Ward 4 Council member Tracey Rider, which was supported by Ward 1 Council member Steve Jensen and Ward 2 Council member Pete Stapperfend.

“We will operate off four questions. What do we want them to learn? How are we going to know they learned it? What are we going to do if they didn’t learn it? And what are we going to do if they did learn it.
