End of school year bash set for Saturday at Adams Park

Fresh Anointing Church and Mt. Zion Worship Center will host an end of school year bash on Saturday at Adams Park.

The event is free and will start at 10 a.m. The day will include food, a gift and live music for children from pre-kindergarten through the 12th grade.

Although the identity of that individual has not been determined, one thing is for certain - a Yukon Republican will continue to hold the seat.

County job site wins OKC Planning Commission support

The Oklahoma City Planning Commission has recommended approval of a resolution to annex 320 acres of unincorporated land between Yukon and El Reno for a proposed industrial mega-site development.

The vote was 7-0 at the May 9 OKC Planning Commission meeting, with the annexation proposal forwarded to the Oklahoma City Council for consideration.

OKLAHOMA CITY — This Father’s Day, June 16, the Oklahoma Tobacco Helpline encourages dads to take the first step toward a healthier life by quitting tobacco. The Helpline, a program of the Tobacco Settlement Endowment Trust (TSET), provides FREE resources for Oklahomans wanting to quit tobacco — and remain tobacco-free.

Dion Kaulaity spent his 19th birthday playing the sport he loves in front of his hometown friends and family.

However, the El Reno High School graduate had one birthday wish that he tried hard to make happen but just fell a little short of unwrapping.

“I really wanted to get this win. I was surprised the game was on my birthday and it’s a blessing to be out here. I thought the way we drove down and scored and then stopped them on both of their 2-point conversions that we were going to get the win,” said Kaulaity.

From the sidelines: Cook says teamwork helped land, run elite contest in El Reno

El Reno High School football coach Russell Cook had one simple comment to both the East and West squads following the nail-biting conclusion to the 2024 Oklahoma Native American All-State Football Game.

“After spending nearly a week with those kids, I told them I loved them for who they are and for what they do representing their tribes and communities,” said Cook, who is part Cherokee.
