Redlands nipped late by Neosho

Body

One second and two free throws kept Redlands Community College men’s basketball team out of the win column for a second straight outing.

Neosho County College, based out of Kansas, drew a foul with a second left on the clock and made both free throws to cap off a rally over the Cougars 80-78.

Redlands slipped to 2-3 on the season with the loss and 1-2 at home after squandering a 41-30 halftime lead. The Cougars trailed early but used a pair of 10-0 runs over the last 10 minutes of the first half to build that 11-point margin.

It took only a few minutes for El Reno High School’s football team to dash any notions of a letdown after being eliminated from the playoffs a week earlier.

El Reno closed out its 2025 campaign with a 54-0 shutout of Western Heights to finish with a 4-6 overall record.

The shutout was the third in a row over the Jets and the seventh in the series dating back to 1972.

El Reno has now won seven straight games over Western Heights and closed the District 5A-2 race in fifth place with a 3-4 record.
