Cleta Mitchell

Body

Cleta Mitchell, 96, of Del City, entered fully into the presence of the Lord on May 18, 2023.

While she will be missed by many, we are blessed to know she is once again with her beloved husband and children.

Cleta entered this world on Aug. 19, 1926, in Yukon, born to Walter and Amanda Tinsley. She married Arthur Mitchell on Nov. 19, 1944, in Okarche, and they made their home in El Reno.

Ernest Edwin Fowler

Body

Ernest Edwin Fowler, known to friends and family as Ernie, went home to be with the Lord on May 12, 2023.

He was born Dec. 22, 1948, in Prescott, Ariz., to Chelcey and Eva Mae Fowler.

He was a 1967 graduate of Shawnee High School and joined the Army in 1968. He met his wife, Carolyn through her sister, Donna and his best friend, Tim.

Ernie and Carolyn married in July of 1973 and were with each other through all of life’s ups and downs.

Ernie was preceded in death by his brothers, Chelcey, James and Walter, and sisters, Yvonne, Freida, Ruby and Betty.

Shirley Perkins Brown

Body

Shirley Perkins Brown, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on May 17, 2023, in El Reno. She was born Dec. 6, 1942, in El Reno to the late William M. Perkins Sr. and Ora Mae Brooks Perkins.

Shirley was a selfless, loving and generous woman who touched the lives of many and will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Shirley was a lifelong resident of El Reno, where she attended Booker T. Washington from first to 11th grade. She later completed her GED at the American School through correspondence.

Mary Curtis

Graveside services for Mary Anna Patzack Curtis will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 26 at the Hazel Dell Cemetery northwest of Minco. Services are under the direction of Huber-Reynolds Funeral Home, Minco.

Mary died May 20, 2023, in Indianapolis, Ind., at the age of 90. She was born and raised in Union City and lived in the Union City and Minco areas for many years. She moved to Indianapolis in 2017 to be closer to her daughter and grandchildren.

Miriam Biegel

Body

Miriam Biegel passed from this life on May 13, 2023. She was born Nov. 2, 1923, on a farm just east of Union City to Albert and Ella Wieman. Miriam was a child of the Depression who learned firsthand the importance of hard work and a supportive family. Shortly after the end of World War II, Miriam married Fred Biegel and settled in El Reno. Although they had no children, theirs was a happy marriage filled with church activities, socializing with friends and traveling.

After Fred’s death, Miriam continued her strong relationship with her church and her friends.

Jayne Crawford

Graveside services for Jayne Ellen Crawford of Brighton, Colo., will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, May 22 at the Canadian Valley Cemetery in Calumet.

Jayne passed away Jan. 3, 2023, in Brighton. She was born Dec. 15, 1964, in Okarche.

She was employed with the Federal Bureau of Investigation and was a member of First Christian Church.

Jayne is survived by her husband, Kelly Crawford of Brighton; daughters, Kimberley and Kasadey Crawford; brothers, Butch, Rick, Danny and Charles; sister, Teresa Kelly; and one grandchild.

Jason Boyd Marquardt

Come-and-go viewing for Jason Boyd Marquardt of El Reno will be held from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 16 at Wilson Funeral Home, with the family present from 5 to 7 p.m. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 17 at Trinity Baptist Church.

Jason went to be with the Lord on May 12, 2023. He was born July 7, 1940, in El Reno to Gus and Anna Marquardt. Jason was raised in El Reno and graduated from El Reno High School in 1958.

William Adams

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of William “Bill” Loyd Adams, who left this earth on May 10, 2023, at 85 years old.

Born as a New Year’s baby on Jan. 1, 1938, in El Reno, Bill grew up in the “alphabet town” section of Fair Addition.

He was a natural athlete and played quarterback on the El Reno High School football team, proudly wearing the number 17 on his jersey.\

Jason Barger

Graveside services for Jason Wyatt Barger of El Reno will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 17 at the El Reno Cemetery with Deacon Lloyd Menz officiating.

Services are under the direction of Huber-Benson Funeral Home.

Jason died May 11, 2023, at St. Anthony Healthplex in El Reno. He was born Aug. 10, 1998, in El Reno. He graduated from El Reno High School and was a tree trimmer employed by Kendall Vegetation.

Jason is survived by his parents, Jimmy and Lizette Barger, and siblings, Joshua Phillips, Ashley Phillips and Sara Barger, all of El Reno.

Randy Stiner

Randy K. Stiner passed away at his lake home on Fort Cobb Lake on May 6, 2023. He was born March 16, 1952, in El Reno to Edward Allen Stiner Sr. and Doris Marie Harris.

Randy was preceded in death by his father, Edward Allen Stiner Sr., his twin brother, Ronnie Stiner, and his brother, Mike Stiner.
