Project Transformation celebrates Christmas in July

Body

Project Transformation recently celebrated Christmas in July.

The celebrations included Christmas crafts, music and decorations throughout Wesley United Methodist Church.

Each of the campers and teachers received Santa hats to wear all week. Of course, Christmas in July would not be complete without visits from the Grinch and Santa and Mrs. Claus, who brought gifts for each camper.

Project Transformation is an eight-week day camp hosted by Wesley Methodist every Monday through Thursday. Each day, the campers receive breakfast, lunch and a snack.

Racing with Daddy’s DNA

Body

Having spent years watching her dad race jet boats on the Southern Drag Boat Association circuit, it was only natural that El Reno’s Radley Miller would catch the bug to jump into the driver’s seat.

“I don’t know when it started. I just liked going to the lake and watching him race. It’s fun to watch him,” said Radley.

There’s just one little problem - Radley is just 12 years old. Four years too young to be a SDBA boat driver and six years shy of racing in the higher-powered classes like her father, Matt Miller.
