Funeral services for Lonny Dean Tech were held Monday, July 18 at Calumet First United Methodist Church with Rev. Tony Moore and Rev. Mary Irby officiating.

Burial followed in the Canadian Valley Cemetery, under the direction of Turner Funeral Home, Geary.

Lonny passed away July 12, 2022, in Calumet at the age of 51. He was born in Okarche on Sept. 1, 1970, to Bill R. and Carol Jean (Schroder) Tech. He grew up in the Calumet area and lived and worked there all his life.

Funeral services for Karen Sue Sears will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, July 22, 2022, at First Baptist Church El Reno, under the direction of Huber-Benson Funeral Home.

Karen passed away July 14, 2022. She was born to Lee Roy and Wanda Jean Bonner on July 16, 1953, in El Reno.

She graduated from Kearny High School in San Diego, Calif., in 1971.

A celebration of life for Ronald Gene Bright will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, July 20 at Wilson Funeral Home. Come-and-go viewing will be held on Tuesday, July 19 from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Ron passed away Saturday, July 16, 2022, at his home. He was born Feb. 5, 1939, in El Reno to the late Delbert and Gladys Bright. He was the oldest of three children.

Funeral services for Robert W. (Bobby) Bowers were held Tuesday in the Benson Memorial Chapel with Ernie Miller officiating. Burial followed in the Calumet Cemetery under the direction of Huber-Benson Funeral Home.

Bobby died July 15, 2022, at his home in Calumet. He was born Sept. 11, 1955, in Okarche. He worked in the oil field as a compressor mechanic and coached Little League and preps baseball. He enjoyed spending time with family, especially his grandkids, and had a love for being outside.

On Jan. 19, 1974, Bobby and Cyndie Evans were married in Calumet.

Longtime Midland, Texas, resident Thomas Edward Moore (Tom) passed away peacefully in his home on June 22, 2022.

Tom was born in Tulsa on March 30, 1936, to Dale and Elvera Moore. He graduated from El Reno High School in 1954, where he lettered in basketball and baseball. During this time, he was blessed to develop lifelong friendships with a group of men who are now known as “The Men of 54.”

Savannah Station saddling up for Galloping for Hope event

Plans are ramping up for the Galloping for Hope fundraiser for Savannah Station.

The event will be from 6 to 10 p.m. Aug. 19 at the Palace Event Center in El Reno. The event is the main fundraiser for the therapeutic riding program located at 13420 Frisco Road.

“We started it many years ago, when the program started in 2013,” Executive Director Andi Holland said.

“We started it as a way to raise our budget. Even today, although our budget has grown exponentially, it brings in half of our budget.
