How does a university professor from South Carolina become infatuated with the history and romance of Route 66?

Apparently like a lot of people.

“I saw the movie Cars,” said Nolan Stolz, Associate Professor of Music at the University of South Carolina Upstate. The school is located in Spartanburg, S.C.

Stolz, who holds a doctorate in music, actually has a much deeper history with the Mother Road than the colorful movie that hit the silver screen in 2006.
