Wiewel, Rasbold announce engagement

Sarah Wiewel and Stephen Rasbold were engaged on Dec. 19, 2020.

The engagement took place at Harn Park in Oklahoma City, a favorite spot for the couple.

The engagement ring was a gold band from Rasbold’s late grandmother, Ruth Rasbold. A single diamond inserted into the ring came from Wiewel’s late great-great-aunt, Lois Madden.

No date has been set for the marriage at this time.

Funeral services for Peggy Nina Smith will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 18, 2021, at Ray and Martha’s Funeral Home Chapel in Carnegie with Deacon Mike Lawson officiating. Interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday, Feb. 18 from 9 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. at Ray and Martha’s Funeral Home.

Peggy was born Nov. 19, 1944, to Arthur and Della Madden of the Pecan Community south of Mountain View. She went home to be with the Lord on Feb. 5, 2021, at her home in El Reno.

Memorial services for Syble Ernesteen Crawford Penwright of Okarche will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 20, 2021, at Crossbridge Church in El Reno with Pastor Mark Fryar officiating. Family only burial will follow in the Calumet Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Absolute Funeral Home in Oklahoma City.

Syble passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2021, in El Reno with her family by her side. She was born April 13, 1936, in Calumet to her parents, Coy and Georgia (Duncan) Crawford.

Shelby Gay Davis

Shelby Davis, 66, of Sparks, NV, formerly of El Reno, passed away February 4, 2021, on her grandmother’s birthday, in Reno, NV.

She was born in El Reno, January 20, 1955, to parents, Allen and Dolores Davis, both deceased. 

She is survived by daughter, Carolynn Davis of Reno, NV, brother, Mark Davis of Bakersfield, CA, and sister, Cathy Rey and husband, Robert of Fresno, CA.

Local relatives are an aunt, Lue Ann Sanderson, and cousin, Ronda Moss and family of El Reno.

Wake service for Esther Yolanda Redbird Postoak will be held Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Del City Church of the Nazarene.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the church with Revs. Leon Postoak and Frank Moppin officiating. Burial will be in the Concho Cemetery under the direction of Huber-Benson Funeral Home.

Esther died Feb. 6, 2021, at Cornerstone Specialty Hospital in Shawnee.

Graveside services for Aiden Lee Shaun Horse were held Friday at the Concho Cemetery with Rev. Waylan Upchego officiating. Services were under the direction of Huber-Benson Funeral Home. 

Aiden was stillborn on Feb. 7, 2021, at St. Anthony Hospital in Oklahoma City. 

Aiden is survived by his parents, Samuel and Lanisha Horse; sisters, Mileena Horse, Mikayla Horse and Lillian Horse; brothers, Samuel Horse Jr., Jonas Horse, Hayden Horse and His’sayots Horse; grandparents, Brian and Lisa Medicine Bear; and great-grandmother, Cynthia Medicine Bear.

James Medicine Elk

Graveside services for James Medicine Elk were held Friday morning at the Concho Cemetery under the direction of Huber-Benson Funeral Home.

James died Feb. 8, 2021, at his home in El Reno. 

He is survived by his wife, Carroll Adams Hagedorn; children, Penelope Nimsey, Timothy Nimsey and Andrealina Uribe; siblings, Clarence Black, Rosa Ward, Bettina Myrick and Darryl Myrick; and numerous grandchildren.

Erlenne Morrison Sanders

Funeral services for Erlenne V. Morrison Sanders were held Feb. 10, 2021, at Minco First Baptist Church with Pastor Mike Luster officiating. Burial followed at Union City Cemetery. Services were under the direction of Huber-Benson Funeral Home.

Erlenne was born Aug. 30, 1930, in Union City to Earl and Marie Morrison. She owned and operated Erlenne’s Beauty Shop in Union City for 30 years.

Being part of Union City all of her life, she dearly loved her town and the families and friends residing there.
